Lazy Morning on Belle Belle Beauty

After a long stretch with no subscription, I bit the bullet and ordered print delivery of my favorite paper to my office this week. Hitha’s post about keeping up with the news was part of the inspiration – such wonderful tips. While digital is great, there is nothing like those soft, grey pages to make a morning. In lighter reading, I found some other gems from around the web this week:

Thanks to Victoria, I discovered the practice of dorveilleor segmented sleep – something I’ve unintentionally practiced but always thought was “wrong”. Turns out that segmented sleep used to be quite common. Note that it also “fits snugly within the Christian Liturgy of the Hours“. I won’t make it a routine, but next time, I won’t feel so bad about those magical pre-dawn hours spent reading. And the unexpected wakefulness that happens the next day.

Speaking of sleep, I read recently that Americans are seriously sleep deprived and I believe it. One thing I’ve been working on is prioritizing sleep – segmented or not. I am almost more vigilant about my FitBit sleep goals than steps. Turns out I might be onto something. This article makes the case that sleep is crucial to being successful in business.

A veteran beauty blogger shares her ten most favorite products discovered in her ten years of blogging. I had to pick up one of her recommendation, Paula’s Choice ‘Skin Perfecting’ 2% BHA Liquid.

Summer Fashion on Belle Belle Beauty

Until I get the winter paleness under control, I will be trying to rock springy, stylish pieces like this. And it doesn’t hurt that I am loving the sneaker trend for weekends. Check out Shopbop (their Friends and Family Sale with 25% off is in full swing) for loads of options. This week I am layering very gentle self tanners on my whiter-than-normal skin to build up just a hint of color (so I don’t blind people). I’ll report back soon on my favorites. Meanwhile, loads of things happening as we get into the swing of April:

Shopbop Friends and Family Sale

Since I moved to Oklahoma four years ago (wow, time flies), I have almost exclusively shopped online. While we have some decent shopping here, it just seems like I am able to snag what I want online and it is just such a breeze. And so many lovely stores offer free shipping. But my favorite spot is by far Shopbop. Shopbop marries a wonderful collection of unique clothes and staples with exquisite customer service and free shipping. For my birthday and Christmas, I am able to create wish lists and my family knows to head there for ideas they know I’d love. Well, now that I have gushed about my #1 spot for online shopping, I wanted to share that their Friends and Family sale starts tomorrow and runs for three days (a sneak peek starts today for those of you who have shopped there before). Get 25% off with code INTHEFAM. As a favor, if you head over to shop, help support the blog and click this link: Shopbop. And if you need some inspiration, here are some of my recent favorites from Shopbop:

Dreamy Bedroom on Belle Belle Beauty

Fellow historical fiction fans: I am devouring my current read about Richard III.

We just got a Trader Joe’s here in Tulsa and I’ve already been three times. Missed TJs so much from my California days. I hadn’t visited one in forever, so I loved these insider tips on what to buy from the ultimate insiders: employees.

Best beauty buys at Whole Foods.

Inspiration via a couple who made the ultimate road trip over 26 years.

I am so glad I invested in these sweats – kind of expensive but so soft and made in the USA.
