Wednesday On The Web on Belle Belle Beauty

I always love dress + jeans look – I’ll never forget doing it with a DVF dress at a big blogger event and getting loads of compliments. Please note that beauty junkies aren’t always on the receiving end of sartorial compliments so it gets us pretty excited! Here are a couple other finds from my hours trolling the nets this week:

Fascinating – everything you wanted to know about your state here.

I’m a huge fan of Kate Middleton but am a little speechless on how much she spent on her hair on her latest trip.

Summer Hair on Belle Belle Beauty

How great is this hair? Hopefully, by the end of the summer, I can master this look. So far, I am making progress by blow drying with only my hands then using sea salt spray to “rough it up”. I also love using a root booster even though I seem to have to wash my hair more often when I add it to my routine. My favorite is L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray – and at under $5 you can’t beat the price.

Some of my finds from around the web this past week:

This site is hilarious – totally dedicated to finding a place to pee (actually majorly useful when traveling)

Craving pastel makeup for spring? Check out this tutorial

These muslin skincare cloths have my name written all over them

This t-shirt dress is bound to be my summer uniform

Shopbop added loads to their sale section yesterday. I ordered this dress and am obsessed – thought it was sold out but looks like black is back in stock and grey and blue are on sale. Some of my other favorites:

Yesterday, one of my favorite sites, THE OUTNET.COM, turned five years old! To celebrate, they have a 17-piece collection of re-issued iconic styles from Alexander McQueen, Antonio Berardi, Balmain, Chloé, Eddie Borgo, Equipment, Haizhen Wang, Iris & Ink, Issa, Jason Wu, Joseph, J.W.Anderson, Nicholas Kirkwood, Preen By Thornton Bregazzi, Oscar De La Renta, Roland Mouret and Vionnet. Check out the pieces here.

Macy’s Friends and Family offers 25% almost all regular and sale items off now through 5/5 with code FRIEND

Wednesday On The Web on Belle Belle Beauty

I think I have the opposite of seasonal affect disorder sometime. While the warmer weather and brighter makeup shades have me slightly giddy, I do mourn the end of holiday season and layered, cozy outfits. We had a cold snap on Monday (and even some snow) and I relished every minute of it. But ya know… spring is here to stay so I took the opportunity of Shopbop’s Friends and Family sale to stock up on some warm weather dresses and sandals (see my picks below).

As my 35th birthday approaches this summer, I realize that I can’t fight my own personal style. You won’t find me in floral prints or loads of pastels. I will always love Jill Sander, All Saints and Alexander Wang. Architectural basics and soft fabrics win me over every single time. And while I’ll play around with makeup, I also have found personal style there too – soft bronzer, black eyeliner and a nude lip. While I have finally mastered the self-blowout, I still can’t resist an up-do just like the one above.

I never dread a birthday (at least not yet), and there is something new to appreciate every single year. So while we continue to reinvent ourselves, I am reminded to celebrate landmarks and each of our unique choices. Please don’t miss Leandra’s post about why she doesn’t wear makeup – it really struck a cord (A thoughtful discussion about why women don’t always wear makeup). And at the same time, seize the day and pick up a new treat during Friends and Family season! Lots of sales to be found here:

Wednesdays On The Web

wednesday web 040914

I have really been embracing the idea of looking forward – not back – lately. Naturally breeding a more positive attitude, I think I become more motivated and creative. Instead of beating myself up for a missed workout or putting my foot in my mouth, I just know that tomorrow is the opportunity for a bigger and better day.

Speaking of workouts, I am striving to step up my game. Pool time is serious with my group of friends and I’d like to get in better shape. While I do frequent cardio, I know I could add runs and weight bearing exercises. I’m also working on my diet. Those who have read this blog know I lost 40 pounds on Nutrisystem last year. While I am still at my all time low weight, I know I need to introduce more whole foods, veggies and fruits. Not to mention, when I eat this foods my skin also looks better than ever! So, that’s where my head is these days. And of course playing and testing so many skin care and makeup goodies.

Some finds from around the web:

Speaking of diet, this is fascinating: what 100 calories really look like

Love this series by Kara – battle of drugstore mascaras – first up is Lengthening

Tempted to invest in this updated classic

Love this how-to, adorable video featuring Estee Lauder products

Earn double InCircle points on beauty online and in stores through Sunday at Neiman Marcus

One of my favorites, Perricone MD, is having their Friends & Family Event. Save 20% on all purchases with code FF2014 through 4/15.

Get 25% off at J.Crew on dressed-up styles with code SPRINGISHERE through 11:59 p.m. PDT tonight

Sale for insiders is happening at Sephora: Beauty Insiders can use code TICKET online through tomorrow and VIB and VIB Rouge members can use code VIBTICKET and ROUGETICKET online through 4/11

Wednesday On The Web and March Favorites

Wednesday On The Web and March Favorites on Belle Belle Beauty

I’m one of those people who relishes a good storm. This afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to bring a wild ride of weather, so I am stocking up on Mexican takeout and queuing up the movies for a couple cozy nights in. Seems cozy nights in is the name of the game lately. Not sure if I am still licking my wounds from this little event or if just feels good to lay low a little bit. It certainly doesn’t hurt that there is loads to read up on around the web (see some favorites below). That doesn’t mean I am not playing around in my makeup and skin care like a good beauty junkie. I can’t wait to share with you some favorite color items later this week. In the meantime, some stories from around the web:

A frightening story about a lifestyle site being stolen and how the owner got it back.

I’m over on MegBiram.com again this month with nine other lovely bloggers sharing our favorite lip products!

So fun that BaubleBar can be found at Nordstrom now.

This recipe from Victoria looks decadent and “soul soothing” – noted!

Looking for some new tabletop goodies? Neiman Marcus is giving you 25% off through today for their Tabletop Event!

I’ve been on a bit of a shopping embargo, but now I really can’t wait to let loose again and pick up some goodies to get ready for spring. Here are some of the bits and bobs from around the web that I can’t seem to resist lately.
