O.R.G. Organic Mineral Peel and GIVEAWAY

O.R.G. Organic Mineral Peel and GIVEAWAY // Belle Belle Beauty

A real thrill as a beauty editor is coming across a brand or product that isn’t quite mainstream yet. But nonetheless exciting, unique and just plain awesome! This peel from O.R.G Skincare is making my skin sing!

First, a little about this indie brand. O.R.G Skincare’s inspiration is Asian skincare and methodology. They also focus on natural ingredients will still maintaining efficacy. A specific ancient ritual from Korea inspired the Organic Mineral Peel:

Silla, one of the three kingdoms that occupied the Korean Peninsula, developed a culture of bathing purposes of ritual purification in bathhouses called Jjimilbang, meaning heated bath. After an individual would soak themselves in these infused baths, an appointed person would ‘massage out’ all the remaining dead skin cells and impurities from the body.

O.R.G. Organic Mineral Peel Face does the same thing, gently exfoliating the skin with all-natural enzymes and brightening the complexion with Milk Thistle and Aloe Vera. The exfoliating action actually creates beads as seen below – one of my more rewarding skin care experiences. I spray on dry skin generously and use tips of your fingers in a circle motion. The formula doesn’t have any scrubbing agents, so it is great for acne-prone or sensitive skin. Just work it into the skin until it dissipates and then rinse.

I’ve found that any skincare steps I take after using the peel are amplified. My moisturizer seems smoother and it feels as if active ingredients work even better. The formula has no scent and is extremely gentle on my easily irritated skin.

La Prairie Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator

La Prairie Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator // Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve got the perfect thing to pick up during Neiman Marcus Beauty Event… I just tried out the new La Prairie Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator. Not only is it precisely what the doctor ordered to pre-game before summer, but it is just enough to score the gift with purchase tote full of samples!

Off the bat, this gel is truly incandescent – a little surreal beauty for your shower. The exfoliating beads are accompanied by Pure Diamond Powder, Amethyst Powder and Smithsonite Mineral Extract. Because it is so densely packed, the exfoliating action is even. Beyond exfoliating, the formula also is enriched with Olivine Oil, Rose Hips Oil and Camelia Oil to cleanse and soften while the The La Prairie Cellular Complex works against aging.

While the granuals don’t initially melt away, the exfoliation action is very gentle. The scent is very subtle. But the effect is not. My skin was unusually soft, hydrated but not greasy. It was the perfect canvas for a little self tanner. The formula is gentle enough to use a couple times a week, but I’d shy away from every day.

Also, don’t forget to snap some Instagrams of your Neiman Marcus Beauty Event haul. Tag your shot with #NMBeauty for your chance to with a NM Beauty Bundle valued at $2,500.

St. Ives Skin Apricot Scrubs Collection

So, I was that girl who had never tried the iconic St. Ives Apricot Scrub. How could I miss out on such a drugstore favorite? I knew this problem required a quick remedy and just in time for an exciting new launch. The scrub is getting a makeover with 100% sulfate-free formulas.

Summer brings more activity, grime and sunscreen build up… at least for me. So I am thrilled to have these in my rotation. These are formulated with natural exfoliants that can even skin. After using all four new formulas over the past couple weeks, I do think my skin is more radiant.

The sulfate-free Scrub collection now includes:

  • St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub
  • St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub with gentle alpha-hydroxy acids
  • St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub with 2% salicylic acid
  • St. Ives Sensitive Skin Apricot Scrub

Each variety has a slightly different feel. They all share a fresh, fruity fragrance I am swooning over. The “Fresh” version is probably closest to the original. The granules in Fresh are quite large – beware of scrubbing too hard and irritating the skin. I love the Blemish and Sensitive version. They are smoother and a little more creamy. I’m not sure you can go wrong, especially at drugstore prices. Another St. Ives favorite for me is their exfoliating pads with AHAs that can be found for under $3!!

Suggested retail price is $3.99 – $5.69. St. Ives Scrubs are available at select mass retailers, drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.

MAC ‘Mineralize Volcanic Ash’ Exfoliator

There was some pretty heavy duty scuttle last week when MAC accounced they were bringing back a discontinued cult-favorite. I haven’t used much MAC skincare, but had heard great things. So, that puppy was ordered and on its way to me, stat.

I love the inky, consistancy of the MAC ‘Mineralize Volcanic Ash’ Exfoliator. The formula contains a foaming cleanser as well – you know I can’t resist a foaming cleanser.  The sugar crystals are on the larger side, but don’t irritate my skin. I’m not sure you could consider this “gentle” though. The earth smell of volcanic ash is especially pleasant to me – it feels spa-like and is rich with minerals. And don’t hesitate to use this on stubborn bumps on your arms and legs.

No wonder there was such a fuss. And now I am hooked too. The exfoliator is currently available at Nordstrom, but I don’t know for how long!

Omorovicza The Gold Body Set

Want to whip your skin into summer shape in the most luxurious way? Look no further than the Omorovicza The Gold Body Set. I’d like to say this would make a great present, but I couldn’t possibly part with it and kept it all for myself. I mean, the products contain GOLD! All three products are amazing used in conjunction, but you can also get them a la carte.

First: Gold Sugar Scrub. This is a very granulated scrub that does a great job getting my skin beach ready. It doesn’t irritate but it is an active, physical exfoliator with fair trade golden cane sugar. I love the gentle, spa-like scent – same for all three products. I never knew that gold was an anti-inflammatory and can repair sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles. The scrub also softens the skin with oils and Capsicum peptide, made from peppers, promotes a healthy glow.

Second: Body Cream. Incredibly rich, this cream really softens skin. My skin looks healthier than it ever has before. Maybe because I can’t stop using this stuff? It also can tighten and revitalize skin. Plum almond oil, Rice germ oil and Jojoba oil moisturize and soothe.

Third: Gold Shimmer Oil. My favorite among the collection, this luminous oil really nourishes my skin. I used to use it in the shower and then decided I didn’t want to waste one bit. I now put it on over the Body Cream and it is almost like it seals in the moisture. Calendula oil helps heal and repair the skin. Anti-oxidants act as a defense as you head out into the world. If you don’t want to indulge in the whole set, I urge you to pick up this oil. The gold shimmer is stunning, especially with a summer glow. The flecks are visible but it looks tastefully “blinged out”.

A little more about Omorovicza: In 2006, Margaret and Stephen de Heinrich de Omorovicza began using this ancient healing resource in their skin care system. Their products harness the curitive properties that have been found in Hungary’s thermal baths for 2,000 years. And their packaging is elegant and harkens a glamourous age. Some of my other favorite Omorovicza products:
