Summer Hair on Belle Belle Beauty

Tropical Storm Bill is upon us here in Oklahoma so the rainy summer continues. I actually don’t mind so much as long as everyone is safe, especially from the horrendous floods we have had here and in Texas. I am enjoying supple skin that doesn’t rely on loads of moisturizer in this humid heat. Along with rainy evenings full of surfing the web for my favorite finds like these:

Bugs love me and you can imagine how many there are with this rain. Some tips to fight bites including my favorite repellant from Avon.

Strongly considering investing in this blazer.

I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time: If the Exercise Class Description From My Gym Were Honest – for example – “You will make noises that sound like you are trying to seduce a whale.”

Hilarious summer beauty product switch post here.

Man, I could go crazy online shopping at M. Gemi.

Giorgio Armani Beauty is having their 20% off friends and family sale now through 6/29 on orders over $75 with free shipping.

This will be my summer at-work breakfast on the regular.

Emoji lovers, don’t miss this hysterical piece.

California Coast on Belle Belle Beauty

This month began with a trip to New York. And it ended with a visit to Chicago. I am not really a big city type of girl, so I am surprised that I visited two such meccas! Next trip will definitely be to California to see my beloved coast and friends. Sorry for the light post today – Mercury Retrograde has me in a bit of a cloud so I am regrouping this week. I don’t always believe in those things, but for some reason, the last couple of years they are always spot on. In the meanwhile, here are some links from around the web:

I admit I am guilty of “buck naked” and “wheelbarrel” – which of these “Eggcorns” are part of your vocabulary?

Love these crafty meals out of pantry staples (when you think you have nothing to eat).

After loads of magazine reading on airplanes, I cracked up at this humorous essay.

I cannot believe it is June – here are some of my favorites from May from around the web:

Solo Recharge on Belle Belle Beauty

I have a wonderful problem. I happen to have an amazing group of friends. A couple of them I am particularly close to. I hit the jackpot when I moved and happened upon some people I know will be in my life till the end. These people also are highly social and we all love being with each other so much. So it is hard to just say “no” and have quiet time at home. I might have overdone the social life this past weekend. I ended up totally drained and in a bit of a blue mood.

Usually am able to hibernate one night a weekend, and that is plenty to soothe this introvert’s soul. But lately just one evening hasn’t done the trick. I crave alone-ness (with the pups, of course). My favorite travels have been solo – I happily trekked off to Russia alone a couple years ago. So while I don’t want to become totally isolated, I hope to have some adventures by myself over the next couple of months. Some are travels – I am headed to Chicago in a couple days. Others might be a great book (or Netflix series) over a weekend. Anyone else crave a bout of solo time to recharge?

A couple finds from around the web:

Speaking of travel: one of the coolest YouTube collabs I have seen – Casey Neistat and Nike #MakeItCount.

10 Weird Facts About Deodorant.

I mentioned Shopbop’s sale last week, but they added tons of designer items recently. Considering another pair of these boots – so comfortable – or this coat.

simplicity on belle belle beauty

I’ve been contemplating summer wardrobe options. While I certainly don’t run out and purchase a new set of clothes every season (I wish!) I do try to be thoughtful about what my staples will be. Year after year, the dresses I have invested in tend to withstand the test of time. Going forward, I will be hunting down deals on timeless dresses like this one above. And just in time, this Memorial Day Weekend is being celebrated by my favorite shopping spots. Some sales not to be missed:

Get 20% off all fashion items at Amazon with code FUN20SUN (through the 25th).

25% off at Jouer’s friends and family sale with code FLOVE.

Tons of new items have been added to Shopbop‘s sale. I am loving the DKNY dresses!

Nordstrom‘s Half Yearly sale starts today! Up to 40%off on Men, Women & Kids styles through 5/31. FREE Shipping. FREE Returns.

25% off your order at J.Crew with code SUMMERLOVE.

And some fun finds from around the web:

Love Bobbi Brown’s feature on The New Potato – she has me rethinking my use of contouring and her dream food day sounds a lot like mine!

One of my favorites, Victoria, I think hit the nail on the head regarding the future of blogging.

Smitten by these metallic loafers.

I do love cereal. What your favorite can tell you about your personality here. I am a bit of a DIYer but all about balance when it boils down to it.

I know Nitro Coffee will be my jam… but it will probably take years to get to Tulsa. 🙁

Don’t sit. Go for a gentle walk.

Dream Summer Weekend Outfit on Belle Belle Beauty

It has been so fascinating on this journey of blogging and social media these last six years. The whole landscape is always changing. Every new twist and era brings about things I love (and a couple things I hate) about being on the Web. The latest development that threw me for a loop: I got a new iPad mini (LOVE BTW) and got back into Pinterest after a long hiatus. Do you use Pinterest? One of my favorite finds from my pinning adventures lately above (also my dream weekend outfit).

And some finds from around the web:

Craving some Wander Beauty goodies especially after Hitha’s post featuring one of the founders (and a supermodel).

What Would Happen If Humans Disappeared because… well… I’m a nerd.

As evidenced above, I am coming around to ripped jeans. And I am seriously craving this pair.

Love jaclyn’s blog – she has the best affordable round-ups of sophisticated clothing.

Neutrals on Belle Belle Beauty

Over wine this weekend with my girls in New York, we all basically agreed that neutrals are our de rigueur. And we also bonded over a shared love of Marie Kondo (if you are the one person left who hasn’t read this book yet, find out more here). Not only to I get a high out of ditching my less-loved items. I also find my life to be more seamless, especially while dressing in the morning. The items that bring me joy are neutral, luxurious pieces that stung at the checkout but remain a staple in my wardrobe for season after season. My closet features loads of black, white, navy and plum, but my new infatuation is camel. I think it is timeless and season-less. Some items on my wish list:

And some finds from around the web:

While I have no plans for a “lob”, these hairstyles are pretty inspiring.

I downloaded the app Moment. Appalled by the amount of time I spend on my phone. How do you stack up?
