Wednesday On The Web and March Favorites

Wednesday On The Web and March Favorites on Belle Belle Beauty

I’m one of those people who relishes a good storm. This afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to bring a wild ride of weather, so I am stocking up on Mexican takeout and queuing up the movies for a couple cozy nights in. Seems cozy nights in is the name of the game lately. Not sure if I am still licking my wounds from this little event or if just feels good to lay low a little bit. It certainly doesn’t hurt that there is loads to read up on around the web (see some favorites below). That doesn’t mean I am not playing around in my makeup and skin care like a good beauty junkie. I can’t wait to share with you some favorite color items later this week. In the meantime, some stories from around the web:

A frightening story about a lifestyle site being stolen and how the owner got it back.

I’m over on MegBiram.com again this month with nine other lovely bloggers sharing our favorite lip products!

So fun that BaubleBar can be found at Nordstrom now.

This recipe from Victoria looks decadent and “soul soothing” – noted!

I’ve been on a bit of a shopping embargo, but now I really can’t wait to let loose again and pick up some goodies to get ready for spring. Here are some of the bits and bobs from around the web that I can’t seem to resist lately.

Three Favorite Serums

Three Favorite Serums on Belle Belle Beauty

I know I covered my current skin care routine yesterday (see that post here), but I purposefully left out the serum step. Since last September, I have been using three serums regularly that I absolutely love. Granted, they all do very different things so I’ve been adjusting based on what my skin needs. So, take a look at your skin and I encourage you to try out these if you have:

Dry Skin: AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate works with your skin to improve its ability to retain moisture. This added moisture helps skin look more radiant. The secret ingredient is a concentrate of Osmoter, a blend of Dead Sea minerals, that heals skin from the inside out. If you are suffering from some serious winter dehydration, look no further. This serum is super gentle and safe to use morning and night.

Fine lines, hyperpigmentation or dullness: Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment works as both a serum and a mask. Expect some generous brightening action here. While it can be a little strong for more sensitive skin, it might be worth the temporary redness. My skin looks smoother and more vibrant, particularly working against hyperpigmentation. With my easily irritated skin, I avoid using it as a mask. But if you have resilient or thicker skin, give it a whirl. I especially love the way this serum looks under makeup.

Sun damage, fine lines and a lazy skin care attitude: SkinCeuticalsPhloretin CF Gel is a trio of active ingredients that can provide a complete anti-aging cocktail. If you don’t like a lot of steps (or are a dude) check out this multi-tasker. The three active ingredients are 2% phloretin, 10% vitamin C, and 0.5% ferulic acid. The gel consistency is great for oilier skin. And antioxidants specifically help regeneration and repair leaving a more youthful appearance. Be prepared for a period of irritation or a break out here and there – this gel helps force out anything congesting skin and reveals a new and fresh layer of skin.

February Love

February Love on Belle Belle Beauty

February hasn’t been my favorite month in past years. It is cold and not terribly festive. And I am not sure I love Valentine’s Day, especially being single. But I am a little more optimistic this year. I’m one of those crazy people who loves the snow and Tulsa is getting a wallop this week. It also means the last couple weeks of my beloved winter fashions.

Jingle Belle!

I’m not sure why, but I’ve been mostly anti-braid. I think the problem is my hair is so fine, it is difficult to achieve the required texture. But this image has me singing a different tune. I’m craving that bulky, messy, textured mess that somehow looks so festive. One day… one day…

Even though the shopping season is coming to a close, there are loads of sales going on. And so many fun gems from around the web. Check out some of my favorite finds:
