Hot Mascaras for Summer

Hot Mascaras for Summer // Belle Belle Beauty

While I have some tried and true favorites (Hello Dior Iconic), I always am testing and trying new mascaras. It is an endless and cherished search that I do in the name of blogging (and being a crazy beauty junkie). Lately, I’ve found some standouts – both brand new and others classics.

I fell hard for it Cosmetics a while back when I tried out their concealer. So I was egear to try out other goodies from the line. Their Hello Lashes! 5-In-1 Treatment Mascara in Black did not disappoint. Not only is this a mascara, but a four other products that all work together for killer lashes. Working as volumizing mascara, conditioning lash primer, lash-enhancing serum, lash tint, and a lash comb/curler, this gives blackest black, full lashes. Developed with plastic surgeons, the formula contains peptides, collagen, proteins, acai, jojoba, green tea, and vitamins A, C, E, and B5. The brush goes after every single lash and I love the Magic Wand detailer tip to get lower and corner lashes. Made in the USA.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Waterproof Mascara in Very Black has been a drugstore favorite since it hit shelves a while back. This formula delivers wild volume. I get great staying power from the Waterproof formula, but haven’t had as much luck with the Washable version. Maybelline’s Very Black is a cherished inky color that stays vivid all day. And unlike so many drugstore formulas, I don’t get any clumps. The brush is huge but still nimble enough to coat every single lash.

I hadn’t experienced Estee Lauder mascara until this one, and it makes me want to try every single mascara they have to offer. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in Extreme Black has three fibers blended in a lightweight base. This creates a false-lash effect with thicker fuller lashes without the weight. At the same time, pearls add a shiny and luminous finish. The best way to describe the effect: lashes just look healthy! The formula also contains Lash-Advancing Vitamin Complex to condition and fortify lashes.

Fall Trends Brunch at Saks Fifth Avenue

A couple weeks ago, I had the honor of hosting a Fall Trends brunch at the local Saks Fifth Avenue. We covered fashion trends in the contempory department including jewel tones, leather and lace. I combed the beauty level for what’s hot this fall for makeup to go with the season’s styles. Here are some of my picks:

Aerin Weekday Palette is the centerpoint of a new line by Estee Lauders grandaughter and current creative director of Estee Lauder, Aerin Lauder. Inspired by the busy lifestyle of working women, this fall style palette is mistake-proof and neutral. The pallette contains two eyeshadows, blush and a highlighter.

Laura Mercier Bonne Mine Healthy Glow is another palette that is all about the healthy, radiant glow. Laura designed this universal compact to “wake up” their skin. It contains a bronzer veil, two cheek veils and two glow veils. These creamy, nourishing shades can be used to contour and highlight. I love just applying with my fingers and letting my creative juices flow. 100% of the profits from the sale of this product will be donated to the Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund.

Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation SPF 30 is inspired by the cult-classic product, Touche Eclat. The innovative foundation comes in 17 shades and is superbly lightweight. Coverage is medium with the radiant finish we saw all over the runways. It has that slightly heavier coverage I crave in the fall and winter without feeling the least bit heavy or cakey.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer is unmatched this fall. No one has done jewel tone nails better. I love the rich blue of “Blue Bloods”. The metallic component is measured so it still is sophisticated. Viper is an equally vampy jewel tone in green.

Lancôme L’Absolu Nu in Rouge Riselle is my pick for a bordeaux lip this fall. It is the perfect balanced color with a hydrating formula. The key to this bold lip is healthy lips and this stuff can heal while you wear it. You can apply with a lip pencil for a full, opaque look or try applying with your ring finger for just a wash of the seasonal color.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Beauty for a Cause

You know I love beauty with a cause – look good AND feel good. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I selected some of my favorite products that are donating a portion of proceeds to the fight for a cure and supporting patients.

1. Estée Lauder Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection: This set includes Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Candy and Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence along with a pink snakeskin-printed clutch. I love Pink Innocence for an easy hydrating gloss and this edition comes in an adorable pot with a patterned lid. For each purchase of the Evelyn Lauder Dream Lip Collection, Estée Lauder will donate 20% of the suggested retail price to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

2. Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Disco: Shiseido has partnered with Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) to support their philanthropic arm, Cancer and Careers. By donating $5 for every Lacquer Rouge in Disco sold throughout the month of October, Shiseido will give back to the non-profit organization dedicated to supporting working women living with cancer. Lacquer Rouge is a liquid lipstick that has insane shine. Disco is an eye-poping, totally fun bright pink. The color has great staying power and doesn’t leave lips dry.

3. Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Pumped Up Pink: These enormously popular balms are crazy nourishing. The the wash of color is perfect for those who want a more subtle look. The Chubby Stick comes with a pretty pink carrying case with a heart-shaped charm puller with Pink Ribbon. $3.00 from this purchase will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

4. Youngblood Crushed Mineral Blush: A portion of the proceeds of sales from 3 shades of Crushed Mineral Blush (Dusty Pink, Sherbet, and Tulip all pink of course!) are going to be donated to Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. I’ve been using Dusty Pink (a brownish pink) and Tulip (baby doll pink) – both have a satin finish. The powder blends beautifully and gives a natural flush. It is a very natural look, but can be layered for more pop.

Esteé Lauder ‘Pure Color’ Intense Kajal Eye Crayon

When I hear something is flying off the shelves, I immediately want to get my hands on it. We always want what we can’t have, right? So, when I heard that the new Esteé Lauder ‘Pure Color’ Intense Kajal Eye Crayon (especially the teal shade), was going to be hard to find, I ran out to pick up both of the available shades.

This is the same idea as the Guerlain ‘Terracotta – Terra Inca’ Khôl Kajal, but the Esteé Lauder offers more precision via a true pencil/crayon packaging. The shorter, chubbier crayon is actually easier to handle and maneuver than a traditional long eyeliner pencil. The included sharpener ensures you will always have a sharp point to get fine line. But the formula also works great if you want to blend out for a smokier look.

The Dramatic Teal is fresh and vibrant on the lower inner-rim of the eyelash. I also have been wearing the Dramatic Black along my top lash line with just a touch of smudge. For a product that isn’t waterproof, I am surprised how much staying power these pencils have. And the colors are incredibly rich and velvety. Let’s just say, I’m glad I got my paws on these while they were still around.

Estée Lauder ‘Pure Color’ Gelée Powder Eyeshadow

These eyeshadows are so pretty, that was almost reason enough for me to buy them.  What a pleasant surprise: they are just as beautiful to use as they are in the compact.  The shadows are described as a “tri-blend formula that’s gel, powder and liquid in one.” In the images they look as if they could be a gel, but they are closer to a traditional powder eyeshadow in my opinion. But you can see how they are revolutionary in how they blend.

They apply so smoothly and can easily be layered.  I have found applying them with my finger actually works best. My favorite look is using Cyber Pink and Cyber Copper dry. But the Cyber Copper wet makes for a beautiful, dramatic liner. The wetter and heavier the application, the shinier and more metallic the appearance. I never would have thought a pinkish shade would work with my reddish undertones.  But it is my favorite new shade for the very corner of my inner eyes. For a truly revolutionary eyeshadow, these are a steal at $24. Plus, it only takes one to create a unique look.
