This little gem is just what my dry, winter skin ordered. I had already fallen hard for By Terry’s Hyaluronic Face Glow, a sort of primer/tinted moisturizer hybrid that delivers serious hydration. Somehow I missed the blush version, but no time like the present to give it a whirl, right? Especially since the holiday collection from By Terry features a brand new shade.

Ombre Blackstar By Terry Eye Shadows From Holiday 2013
For a cream eyeshadow, I look for luxurious creamy texture, great staying power and ease of application. It is like By Terry read my mind. Ombre Blackstar is ultra-smooth, highly-pigmented cream eye shadow in a pencil-like form. This crayon has a soft texture that can be applied to get an opaque, rich finish or blended out for a wash of color. The staying power is thanks to what By Terry calls a “temporary tattoo” coverage effect. The waterproof formula seriously does not budge.

Terry de Gunzburg Fragrances
I’ve been a long-time by Terry fan. I am captivated by the fact that she developed the iconic YSL’s Touch d’Eclat before starting her own line. And I fell hard with the first of her products I tried, this beauty. Terry de Gunzburg Fragrances were somewhat of a surprise to me. I didn’t expect her to develop a perfume. But I knew she would do it incredibly well. I’ve been wearing all five scents over the past couple of weeks and honestly struggle to find a favorite. While some are heavier and some are fresher, I find them “season-less”. I didn’t go crazy layering and trying different combinations, but they are designed to be both worn alone and combined.
Neutral Soft and Feminine Makeup
While I can appreciate bold and artistic shades, I will always gravitate towards natural, nude and soft colors. I’ve amassed quite a collection of products to achieve this look, but I certainly have some favorites. Here is a round up of my all-stars:
- Tom Ford Lip Color in Casablanca – the perfect nude adds just a hint of pink and looks like your lips, but better.
- By Terry Light-Expert Perfecting Foundation Brush in Vanilla Light – this brush/foundation combo has a luminous sheer finish.
- Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée – this jelly textured blush can be applied with fingers for a sheer wash of color.
- Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner in Nobody’s Baby – I tap this super hydrating color onto my lips for a barely there look.
- Revlon PhotoReady Primer + Shadow in Impressionist – this handy palette contains a primer and has luxury-like soft powders that are so wearable.

Rescue Dry Winter Lips
I’ve been fielding loads of questions about caring for dry, chapped winter lips. I battle dry lips year round, so I am in even more of a pickle when the humidity plummets. Here are my favorites to have on hand over the colder months:
1. By Terry Baume de Rose: I was a little weary of a rose scented balm, but this rich formula melts into a glossy, nourishing treatment. I wore it over red lipstick yesterday and the effect was a blended, shiny pigment with loads of hydration. This also doubles as a great cuticle cream.
2. La Mer ‘The Lip Balm’: If mint is more your thing, this other luxury option is more of a solid balm with still the same nourishing hydration. The balm contains La Mer’s famous Miracle Broth™ with marine extracts, botanicals and vitamins to regenerate the delicate lip skin.
3. bliss fabulips sugar lip scrub: There are a couple different lip scrubs that are often repeated as “favorites”. I’ll tell you why I love this one: it is gentle while removing flaky mess and leaves behind Shea and Cocoa butters to soften and heal.
4. Kate Somerville ‘Quench & Correct’ Plumping Lip Gloss & Restorative Lip Treatment: This option is packed with skin care to help improve the appearance of your lips. The Correct end of the pen contains Hydra8™, boosting collagen renewal and eliminating dryness. On the other side, Quench, adds moisture and plumps. See Kate’s Winter Skin Care Tips here.
5. ChapStick Cooling & Soothing Lip Balm: I couldn’t be more tickled with the latest flavor of ChapStick: Peppermint. The same healing formula now has a cooling feel that seals in moisture while you brave the elements. I can’t think of a more festive lip balm.

b-glowing.com Relaunch
b-glowing.com has been on my radar, with their luxe, hard-to-find offerings. But I haven’t had a chance to really dive into the site. They are now rolling out a relaunch, I am definitely sitting up and paying attention. The elegant site is packed with niche and specialty beauty brands that are hard to get your paws on unless you live in a big city. I’m planning on picking up goodies from By Terry, Kai and Tammy Fender (adore her things!). They offer free shipping AND hassle-free returns. Don’t like a product… just send it back. Easy!
They have implemented a upgraded search, allowing you to search by formulation, skin type/concern, fragrance notes and more, improved browsing and navigation, a new men’s category (great for gifting), seasonal fragrance flights with a clean elegant look and feel. Look for other great improvements throughout the holiday season including 200% larger product images and 3 Beauty Archetypes – b-natural, b-classic or b-creative.
And a special treat: get $15 off your first order of $75 or more using code refer11. Click here. Happy Shopping!
