“The Knot Dream Wedding” and Ralph Lauren Romance Plus a GIVEAWAY

We are sneaking up on the most romantic time of year. Not only is everyone buzzing about wedding season but in a couple weeks we have Valentine’s Day. Whether you love it or not, this story is heartwarming. What a wonderful way to celebrate love.

Wedding website, The Knot, just announced a program to create a wedding for one lucky couple. Wedding planner Marcy Blum will follow them through the planning process, allowing readers to vote on each element. This year’s winners of the “The Knot Dream Wedding” are Boston Marathon bombing survivors Rebekah Gregory and Pete DiMartino. The couple was cheering on Pete’s mother when the bomb exploded. They endured multiple surgeries and months of physical therapy, but the experience strengthened their relationship. When TheKnot.com’s EIC heard the couple got engaged, she knew they were the perfect “Dream Wedding Couple.”

And what better fragrance than Ralph Lauren Romance to be the sponsor? Just like the upcoming wedding, Romance is all about the essence of falling in love. The fragrance has that woodsy base that I always love balanced by florals like Sungoddess Rose, Marigold, Yellow Freesia, White Violet, Lotus Flower, Day Lily and rounded out with Ginger and Chamomile Oil.

Miranda Kerr is The New Face (and Hair) For CLEAR SCALP & HAIR

When it comes to hair, I will always be behind treating strands and the scalp. That is exactly the approach that drugstore brand CLEAR SCALP & HAIR takes with their line of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. This week, they announced that the beautiful Miranda Kerr will be replacing Heidi Klum as spokesperson.

You have to admit, she does have a great head of hair (and impeccable style to match). Kerr will star in a national advertising campaign appearing on TV, in print and on digital properties this month. Also this month, CLEAR is launching two new products. Amber Heard at the Golden Globes

For my final favorite from last night’s Golden Globes, I want to share Amber Heard’s Hourglass Makeup. But first, as I was planning this post, I realized I almost always share a look from Hourglass during awards season. There must be something about these luxe and neutral colors that make for the most flawless and glamorous looks. Amber is no exception. Paired with her midnight blue Atelier Versace dress and romantic up-do, the nude but sultry makeup was perfection. “Amber brought some of her own ideas to the mix,” says makeup artist Matthew VanLeeuwen. “She liked the idea of focusing on sultry chocolate eyes, creamy skin and soft nude lips. I was just bringing out the remarkable geometry and beauty of her face.”

Olivia Wilde at the Golden Globes

Olivia Wilde took home my award for favorite hair at last night’s Golden Globes. It also doesn’t hurt that her baby bump is pretty darn adorable. Lona Vigi created the look with Oscar Blandi goodies. She was inspired by the star’s natural beauty and wanted to juxtapose her sleek Gucci dress. The sideswept waves were not too “overdone” but rather “sexy” and “effortless”.

First, Lona prepped wet hair using Oscar Blandi Jasmine Oil Serum on the ends for shine and Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray on the roots for body and “staying power”. Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray was used to protect locks.

A round brush was used to blow dry hair. After drying, Lona used Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray all over and then curled it using two different barrel sizes (¾ to 1½ inches). Repeat all over for more texture (I can’t wait to try this!).

To finish, she used Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Spray to add shine and absorb product residue. Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray provided hold for the night.

Drew Barrymore at The Golden Globes

Award season is upon us again! While I try to be sparing with my “Get The Look” posts, I do find sharing some of my favorites is great for makeup inspiration. I certainly couldn’t pass up Drew’s look from last night, not only because I thought she looked fresh and radiant. I have also had the chance to get to know her makeup artist, Debra Ferullo. Debra also collaborated with Drew in developing her Flower line of makeup. Here’s how to get her look:

Debra was inspired by Drew’s floral Monique Lhuillier gown and specifically accented with a bright red, lip. Overall the look was feminine and soft.

First, she created a canvas using FLOWER About Face Foundation with Primer.

Next, Debra created a natural flush on Drew’s cheeks with FLOWER Kiss Me Twice Lip & Cheek Chubby in Apricot-a-lot.

She applied FLOWER Color Play Creme Eyeshadow in Rest On Your Laurel to brighten eyes and used the brown shades in Flower Shadow Play Eye Shadow Quad in Foxy Browns in the outer corners.

Debra lined eyes with FLOWER On Your Mark Liquid Eye Liner and coated lashes with the FLOWER Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara.

Lastly, Debra added a bold lip with FLOWER Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Red-dy to Bloom.
