Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Belle Belle Beauty!  Somehow I missed my blog’s first birthday (9/15) woopsie. Well, after 160 posts, I am still smitten with blogging and look forward to many more reporting on my product junkie finds.

In the upcoming weeks, you can look forward to a new look for Belle Belle Beauty.

Oh, and by the way, have you checked out my fashion blog, Su-perb?

Barefaced Look

Since the busy week in New York, I have been embracing a very basic, clean face.  It is amazing how many compliments I have received.  I literally pared down my routine to these five products, striving for a flawless looking fave.  It works great when you are being adventurous in your outfit and want the focus there!

Essie Fall 2011 Collection

Essie’s fall collection is a homage to handbags – how could we NOT love it, right?  I’ve had a chance to try all these colors. The are understated but modern.  With, of course, Essie’s long-lasting and quality formulation.

  • Power Clutch: enigmatic darkest green.
  • Very Structured: creamy burnt sienna.
  • Lady Like: pretty, demure pink
  • Carry On: magnetic mulberry merlot

If the dark, merlot appeals to you, also check out this.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Honeysuckle

I have walked by this stuff in the store hundreds of times, unwilling to shell out the $7 for some lip balm.  But yesterday, I broke down.  And I am so glad I did. After my dogs fervently and completely chewed up my last two lip smackers (why they do this, I have no idea), I was in need of a replacement.

I went for the lightest color, Honeysuckle.  I have been overdoing it on the berry colors for fall.  Who knew I was about to discover the nude “lipstick” I have been hunting for all summer?  Other than NARS Cosmetics Satin Lipstick – Honolulu Honey, I hadn’t found anything.  To my amazement, Honeysuckle was the perfect, semi-sheer nude lip.  It doesn’t require a liner (or a mirror) and it is fantastically hydrating.

I was a little irritated with the packaging… why do we need a big cardboard tube for your basic lip balm dispenser.  But after all that tugging and tearing, I unvieled a little treasure in a brown tube.  The fragrance is floral but very subtle. Now, that was a $7 well-spent.

Beach Waves

It was a struggle, but I finally am out of my “stick straight hair” routine.  This summer, I have embraced Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray and what I like to call, “fuzzy hair”.  I admit, it is much easier to achieve and I get so many compliments.

My favorite trick is to wash my hair at night.  While hair is semi damp, I do a semi-loose fish braid.  I found that a tighter or regular braid makes my hair look like it was crimped a la 1989.

I can’t wait to try Charlotte Ronson x Sephora’s A Perfect Mess – so far, I have heard great things.  Gives shine, hold and with a perfect summer beach day scent.

Velvet Nails at Ports 1961

I love this matte, velvet polish from butter LONDON for the Ports 1961 runway show today.  According to Birchbox, the base color is Chimney Sweep followed by their Matte Finish top coat.

“According to Creme, the matte finish over a metallic gives more depth and feels more contemporary than using it over a shimmer-free shade. It worked — the models’ nails has a sumptuous velvety finish”
