Three Must-See Favorites

Hey… because it is almost Friday – three superstars I had to share with you. Click on the items in the image for more shopping information.

BeautyADDICTS Face2Face Cream to Powder Foundation

This indie brand isn’t widely available but it should be. While I usually don’t care for cream foundations, this one works to improve skin while it covers flaws. The formula contains vitamins A and E and green tea to heal and protect skin. Special ingredients work to hydrate so the powder finish looks luminious and flawless, not cakey or overly matte. This is my pick to throw in my purse for on-the-go. I recently learned those plastic covers that I previously thought were part of packaging and threw away actually help protect and preserve product. This version has a flip lid attached so no need to keep track of a translucent (elusive) slip of plastic.

Nest Vanilla Orchid & Almond Scented Candle

I can’t really say there is a NEST fragrance I don’t love. But their newest marries my beloved oriental with a rich and sultry gourmand vanilla/almond mix. Patchouli and musk keep it from being overly sweet while Mediterranean almond and white orchid soften the scent into a romantic deliciousness. Orchid and Almond is the perfect fragrance to bridge seasons and usher in warmer months.

Kanebo Sensai Collection Silky Bronze Self Tanning Gel for Face

Before this gem, I had not found a self-tanner for the face that I love. Finally, just in time for spring, this gel from Japan provides both hydration and a bronzy glow. The smoothing gel works beautifully under makeup and other skin care. I’ve been using 1-2 times a week for a subtle glow but plan to up my frequency to every other day so I can skip makeup and bronzer and still look sun-kissed.

My Skin Care Routine and Current Shopping List

Belle Belle Beauty's March Skin Care Routine

My skin care routine is always changing as I am adding new products for review. Every once in a while, I’d like to share my routine, just so you can see what is on Belle Belle’s radar. Here is what is stacking up on my vanity:

1. ReVive Cleanser Exfoliant: This gentle and creamy cleanser has beads that help turn over dull and dry winter skin without irritation.

2.Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer: This luminous cream provides important sun protection now that retinol and hydroquinone are back in my rotation.

3. Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion: This toner helps ensure all traces of my makeup are gone while helping my skin fight redness and promoting even skin.

4. Kate Somerville Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream: The big 3-5 is only four months away and I’m staving away wrinkles with this hydrating, technologically advanced cream.

5. Rodin Olio Lusso: Ever since I was tipped off to add a face oil over moisturizer to “seal in” moisture, I can’t bear to skip this step and I think my skin is more luminous than usual. This classic is the original face oil.

Celebrate Hydration Day With Kiehl’s

Celebrate Hydration Day With Kiehl's On Belle Belle Beauty

Anyone else parched? I can envision a bunch of you raising your hands. All across the country, we have all suffered the effects of harsh winds, dry and artificial heat and lack of moisture in the air. Especially you poor souls in the Northeast – you’ve been through a doozy. This all leads to dull, aging skin.  Well, Kiehl’s has just what the doctor ordered.

To the rescue! Kiehl’s teamed up with FIJI to celebrate today as Hydration Day. No better way to introduce Kiehl’s new Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration. Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration was tested under the harshest of conditions. It was proven to provide 24-hour hydration. Thinking it might be greasy and heavy? Nope! Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration is the most lightweight cream to date by Kiehl’s and is great for all skin types.

As a partner, FIJI reminds us to continue to drink water throughout the day to add hydration to skin from the inside out. FIJI, one of my personal favorites, has naturally occurring electrolytes. And I know this sounds silly because we are talking about water, but I think it tastes particularly delicious.

Today, swing by Kiehl’s retail stores for complimentary hydrating facials and FIJI water. No purchase necessary. And celebrate with us by tweeting the hashtag #HydrationDay. Happy Hydration Day!

Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil

Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil on Belle Belle Beauty

Do you know that feeling when something happens and it feels so life changing… then all of a sudden you realize you’re left not too far from where you were before the momentous event? I’ve spent a couple days angry about something and then I was listening to a new top 40 hit, Pompeii by Bastille and heard these words:

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

So here we are pretty much exactly where we started and the challenge is to become optimistic. I guess I can do that. And what better way to put on a happy new face than a brand new face oil. By now, you know I love a good face oil, and Colbert MD’s Illumino Face Oil is a luxe version worthy of high praise.

Dr. Colbert is an accomplished Internal Medicine and Dermatology physician with accolades, books and tons of media appearances. His skin care line was developed around his patented QuSome delivery system, allowing for max absorption of ingredients before they start to work. Thanks to this, the line is particularly well-suited to fight aging and inflammation and add radiance to skin.

The Illimino Face Oil works on texture and glow especially well. Since I am back on the Retin-A bandwagon, I actually appreciate the active ingredients. Retinol and Vitamin C work to even and brighten. While the oil adds nourishment and hydration. Win win. Specifically the oils work several ways:

  • Borage Seed Oil A rich source of Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) which aids in cell repair and improves skin’s overall tone and texture.
  • Yangu Oil Improves skin’s elasticity, suppleness.
  • Marula Oil Infused with Oleic Acid which aids in hydration and skin barrier function.
  • Passion Fruit Oil Improves skin’s elasticity while acting as an antioxidant.
  • Argan Oil A deeply penetrating antioxidant rich in Vitamin E.

Available at Space NK, Barneys and ColbertMD.com.
