Okay, I am such a curmudgeon. I really don’t care for Halloween. But the kiddos are coming to the office today to trick or treat and I am oddly excited to hand out candy while getting stuff done in anticipation of the weekend.
Now, if I could somehow pull off a way to replicate the above look, you better bet I would embrace the All Hallows’ Eve and hit the town. We shall see what happens. For now, this is “End of October Day” and “Stanford Plays Oregon Tomorrow Day” in this house. And so, here are my favorites from around the web this month:
I have to admit, I didn’t really know who Robin McGraw was (I googled it – Dr. Phil’s wife). But I did know one thing – I really liked this fragrance. Appears I am not alone, because it is currently sold out on HSN. I meant to tell you about the launch earlier this week, but my blog break threw me off (sorry about that).
Robin appears frequently on Dr. Phil’s show. And has written tons of books. So needless to say, she has charisma. Her first fragrance is inspired by her mother and womanliness. Her classic notes include bergamot, freesia and water lotus. Orchid, rose and tea come out next. And my favorite: amber, patchouli and musk round out the wildly appealing scent.
Like other fragrances, this one has the most staying power with layering. I don’t get a ton of scent out of the body wash. But I love the creamy body lotion. And the hand lotion is super hydrating without an overpowering scent – love that for the office.
Get on the wait-list here so when Georgia does come back in stock, you can be the first on snag one.

The word this fall is “purple”. While purple lips sounds scary (at least they used to to me), I recently found out they are actually a blast to wear. Imagine this: I stroll into a bar wearing Insolent Plum…. I know…
But seriously, I was meeting a group of some of my more sophisticated friends and was greeted with an effusive “I love your purple lips!”. Wow – I didn’t even really think I was wearing purple. But that is the beauty of rocking a subtle trend: my favorite kind.
Add that to the fact that the formula of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick is something to celebrate. The pigments define lips without being cakey or matte. My dry lips remain super hydrated. But somehow this balmy texture manages to pack a color pop.
And the design of the tube is so intuitive, dare I say you don’t even need a mirror? Bonus points: this lasted through two (very sophisticated) cocktails.

Getting back into the swing of things means the return of Wednesdays on the Web. I am obsessing over these long layers and a neutral lip (just like those in yesterday’s post).
Hope you guys enjoy these links from around the Internet:
This insider info from pilots is fascinating – I have an obsession with the logistics of air travel.
I’m baaack! After a week-long break over here on Belle Belle, I am refreshed and ready to hit the ground running again. And I figured no more perfect way than to share how I am getting ready in the AM lately. I am totally digging the “no makeup” look and here are my favorite products to achieve it:
First, the best way to start is bright and radiant clean skin. And I am completely hooked on the Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Brightening Solution. Please see the full review here. But long-story short: the kit comes with Clarisonic Aria, Radiance Brush Head, 6 oz Skin Illuminating Cleanser, 6 oz Skin Renewing Peel Wash and Brightening Activator Serum. I love all the formulas and have seen a dramatic difference since I started using day and night with the formulas. It is especially transoformative on my dreaded hyper-pigmentation.
Rather than eye shadow (or a full smokey eye), I like using one shade and a primer on the lid. The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is a favorite an now comes in a sleek tube. On the lid, it neutralizes discoloration, stays put for 24-hours without creasing and looks clean and natural. I follow with an old favorite which I recently dug out of the Belle Belle archives. All you need is a swipe of Urban Decay NAKED Basics and the formula is so buttery and rich. Plus, the shades suit a variety of skin tones – I like using a swipe of Naked 2 (fourth shade from left). And now I have my eye on the newer palette, Urban Decay NAKED2 Basics.
Last, just add a swipe of my favorite – a pigmented balm on the lips. Looking for a budget option? I’ve been addicted to L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Balm in Nude. You get shine and sheer color that stays put (for a balm). But it never feels waxy or greasy.

You’ve probably noticed a little bit of sparseness around here at Belle Belle if you are a regular reader. Sorry about that and rest assured it isn’t a permanent thing. I mentioned some big professional changes at the beginning of September and this week happens to be a big one with the new gig. So I am going to do something I’ve never done and step away from the blog until next week. But I will be around on twitter, facebook and instagram so swing by there and say hi!
Also, isn’t it funny I used to never drink coffee but now I am absolutely addicted to two cups in the AM? I am looking to invest in some cute cups to keep at the office. And I love these! And of course the mani.
