Dr. Brandt Skincare Xtend Your Youth Face Cream

Dr. Brandt Skincare Xtend Your Youth Face Cream on Belle Belle Beauty

There is something wonderful about a skin care brand backed by a well-known dermatologist. You know there is real science behind the formulations. And more often then not, they work better than the average product. dr. brandt is probably at the top of my list of favorite derm brands. I have been trying out their new Xtend collection and will be sharing my thoughts on the products over the next couple weeks.

First up is this antioxidant cream that nourishes and protects skin. Harvested with an innovative extraction process, the antioxidants are infused into the formula to shield skin from free radicals.

My favorite part is the luminous glow I get after using Xtend Your Youth Face Cream. Murmuru, Shea, And Kokum Butters hydrate skin giving it a plump, youthful look. I use this in the evenings after cleansing.

Available at Sephora.

Wednesday On The Web on Belle Belle Beauty

I’m newly hooked on Parachute – got the bedding about a month ago – and already can’t wait to order their new bath collection. I ordered the percale set in Ash which matches my headboard perfectly. I seriously have slept better the last couple weeks than I have in years. The bath collection launched this week and I already can tell – the bath sheets have my name on them!

Some other finds I love from around the web:

I agree wholeheartedly with these essential brushes.

I’m far from a perfectionist, but this article makes my heart go pitter-patter.

Shopbop Sale Alert

It is that time of year again – my favorite time to stock up on staples for the new season. This year at the Shopbop Spring Sale have my eye on Vince (as always), Rag & Bone, Sea and surprisingly the most supple loafers from Tory Burch. My favorite finds from the sale:

Brand Spotlight: Wander Beauty

I promise it isn’t because we share the same first name (Lindsay) and she spells it correctly 🙂 . But model Lindsay Ellingson got it right when she founded Wander Beauty. Inspired by her globe-trotting travel lifestyle, this luxury cosmetics line is a gift for the face (and morning routine). The products perform all while being cruelty-free.

I’ve absolutely have loved the On-the-Glow Blush and Illuminator (reviewed here) so I jumped at the chance to try Wander Beauty’s new Flash Focus Hydrating Foundation Stick. I have been on a tinted moisturizer kick but was looking for a little more coverage (thanks, three week cold/cough) and this fit the bill with its buildable coverage. I love the conditioning formula as it layers on my dry skin. I’ve been wearing Medium which might just be my most perfect foundation match yet.

In my morning routine, I’ve been skipping eyeshadow and using this multi-tasking palette from NARS to save time. But when I came across Exquisite Eye Liquid Shadow, I made time for a little shadow. Kudos to Wander Beauty for coming up with a cushioning eye shadow that actually feels good to put on. The silky liquid stays on a gives just a wash of color. You can also layer for a more dramatic look.

I admit, I am a bronzing addict, but I am really working on backing off the golden stuff. And Wanderess Cheek Tint makes it easy. This liquid is definitely subtle, but it wakes up my complexion just enough. This natural-shaded tint contains serum to enrich skin. And the golden glow is perfect for sallow skin. The formula contains hyaluronic acid and humectants to plump and hydrate skin.

Available at Wander Beauty.

Remember-Gray-Doesnt-Always-Look-Drab

I read yesterday that spring is only 25 days away. What? I know most of you are reveling in the arrival of warmer weather. But I feel cheated. Last weekend is was 85 here in Tulsa. This coming weekend it is supposed to be 75. Not only am I not ready for those warm temps (my A/C went out last weekend – grrrrr), but as an allergy sufferer, I know that things might get really bad since we didn’t have a proper freeze here this year (double grrrr). Hopefully one more cold snap before flowers bloom. But in the case that doesn’t happen, I will be working to emulate this awesome in-between-season outfit above.

Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion

Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion on Belle Belle Beauty

As a teen, I savored the skin care step of Sea Breeze. There was something about that cool, ultra-clean feeling, especially on my younger, oilier skin. I thought I had outgrown that feeling (or my dry skin certainly had) until I tried Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion.

This iconic product has been around since 1964 – that certainly qualifies for “tried and true”. I picked it up to conquer some breakouts on my cheek. My dermatologist said that the clogged pores were some purging related to my new Retin-A kick.

The Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion was the perfect tonic to loosen up those pores and decongest. After a couple weeks use, my skin in clear. And I am hooked on the refreshing clean from a toner. While my skin is dry, I have no tightness or ill-effects from using this. But those with sensitive or ultra-dry skin might tread lightly.

PS – Guys, the word is that men love it as an after-shave treatment.

Available at Kiehl’s and Nordstrom.
