Le Metier de Beaute Fall/Winter Mini Nail Lacquer in Dynasty

Tis’ the season for a festive red and there isn’t one quite as perfect as Le Metier de Beaute Fall/Winter Mini Nail Lacquer in Dynasty. The shade was part of the limited edition nail lacquer collection for Fall/Winter 2011 and is still available in stores. The collection was inspired by  jewels, spices and luxurious fabrics traveled along the Silk Road, just like the accompanying Fall/Winter Kaleidoscope Eye Kit. What color are you rocking for the holiday season?

NARS Desperado

I’m feeling festive! I get to see one of my oldest and best friends this weekend. Digging through my polish drawer, I found NARS Desperado. The bottle was virtually unused even though it was purchased months ago.  I was thrilled to discover, it is a perfect bronzy, gold.

Glitter Nails Grown Up

I am definitely on the glitter bandwagon, but I hadn’t quite mastered how to pull it off on my nails.  Happy Birthday by Deborah Lippmann has been in my collection for over a year.  From time to time, I pull it out.  But it usually only stayed on my nails for a couple days.  After messing around with combinations quite a bit, I discovered this look and think it is quite perfect.  I used my favorite nude (Naked) as a base.  For a true opaque, it required three coats.  And then I used Happy Birthday on roughly the top 1/3 of my nails.  What do you think?

Friday Finds

This week I was reunited with some old favorites and discovered new gems.  Here’s a taste of some of the highlights in honor of the weekend.

1.  Butter London – Limited Edition 3 Free Lacquer in Bluey (in lamplight looks like a holiday evergreen)

2.  W3LL People Cosmetics (more to come on them in the near future – local Austin company)

3.  Honeybee Gardens Truly Natural Mascara (a natural mascara that actually works for $10.99)

4.  Solar Rx Cosmetic Moisturizer Sunblock (uses simple natural ingredients to get maximum physical protection)

butter London Nail Skins

butter London is one of my new favorite polish lines.  Their colors are unique and diverse – with a 3 free formula (NO Formaldehyde, NO Toluene, NO DBP).  In true form, their new nail skins are the prettiest I have seen.  That leopard is so cool.  $10 and not available in the UK.
