My Skin Care Routine and Current Shopping List

My skin care routine is always changing as I am adding new products for review. Every once in a while, I’d like to share my routine, just so you can see what is on Belle Belle’s radar. Here is what is stacking up on my vanity:

1. ReVive Cleanser Exfoliant: This gentle and creamy cleanser has beads that help turn over dull and dry winter skin without irritation.

2.Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer: This luminous cream provides important sun protection now that retinol and hydroquinone are back in my rotation.

Holiday Glowing Skin

Icy winter weather is back again and we are officially in the throws of holiday celebration. While I am not “taking off” any days this week, I will be slightly lighter on the posts. Instead, I’ll be practicing holiday looks and fine tuning some You Tube tutorials for you in the New Year! Speaking of holiday looks, my favorites this season has been neutral eyes and lips with radiant and glowing skin. I’ve discovered some tips and tricks and wanted to share!

Five Late Summer Favorites

So, today marks the official back to school here in my city. Time to face the music and start thinking about prep for those cooler months ahead. I’m focusing on stretching out this tan, staying safe in the sun, repairing sun damage and nourishing my dried out hair. Among other things! Here are five favorites that I keep reaching for to do just that:

Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Shampoo basically transports me back to high school with its fruity scent (how appropriate this time of year!). But what really impressed me was the effect – I use this at night and sleep in a wet braid – the next morning I have full and bouncy waves!

Coola TotalBody Organic Moisturizing Suncare with SPF 30 is keeping me sun safe these last couple of pool days. The scents can’t be beat (my favorite is Plumeria). And I feel even better staying safe in the sun using an organic product.

Essie for the twill of it from their fall collection was high on my wish list. But now that I have it in (or on) my hot little hands I’m swooning so hard I almost fell over. The opaque shade is as nuanced and special as any luxury polish. Fall signature mani sold!

How I Stay Looking Rejuvinated

I’ve been particularly focused on looking rejuvenated lately. While I have been having the time of my life… I do acknowledge that I have just hit the 3-4 birthday. All in all, I have been pretty darn lucky avoiding those dreaded crow’s lines and under eye bags, but I know I need to step up my game if I want to keep it that way. Also, as a sufferer of hypothyroidism, my eyebrows can become a little….well, sparse…. around the outer corners. I am a huge believer in full brows adding a healthy and youthful appearance. Lastly, that bright, even and glowing skin keeps me looking fresh. So, these three winners from ReVive, NeuBrow and Tata Harper are keeping me in business:

NeuBrow by Skin Research Laboratories (of NeuLash fame) delivers that same potent serum that works so well on lashes, but this time to my weakened little brows (okay… they aren’t little or weak, but let’s keep it that way). The Willow Bark brightens any dullness I have and adds a rosy blow. The Pink Clay helps clear pores. And you get a great dose of antioxidants, particularly helpful in the summer, with Which Hazel. Just apply and thick layer, wait 15 minutes and voila!

RéVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream Supreme

I was already hooked on the uber-popular RéVive Moisture Renewal Cream, but was thrilled when I heard the buzz that they were developing a more hydrating formula. Dry skin sufferers, get excited. This stuff needs to be on your list.

I am instantly intrigued when a physician plays a part in developing a product because I believe a doctor’s mentality invites more proven results. RéVive is known for their proprietary RES Technology. The patented ingredients help increase the production of healthy looking skin cells, restoring and repairing damaged skin. Oh, and there is that little bit about it winning a Nobel-prize.

What makes this different from all the other rich hydrators out there is Glycolic Acid, which gently exfoliates, retexturizes and renews skin. After weeks of diligent use, my skin appears clear and even. Dry flakes have made a quick departure. And I do believe it brings an additional glow.

A side note to retinol users: glycolic acid does not play nice with Retin-A or other retinol containing products. Also, avoid your Vitamin C goodies. I didn’t know this while testing, so I can assure you nothing horrible will happen to you if you slip up. But it isn’t advised.
