Wednesday On The Web

spring face

I’m lazy. Super lazy in the AM. Now that I have gotten to know my coworkers fairly well, I don’t feel like I need to put on a super full face of makeup every single day. But one thing I just can’t seem to kick is mascara and a neutral pout. This image above is just so spring and polished with the powerful coral/orange lipstick. It shall be my inspiration to step up my lip game.

Hope you guys had a wonderful Saint Patrick’s Day. I was cozy at home with the pups. Trolling the web, I found some treats from around the web to share with you:

This article was totally written for me, the introvert.

I am no New Yorker, I used to think I knew the city well. This quiz tells me I only “kinda” know NYC. (side note: I sense a theme… maybe I should have started a blog about maps)

Speaking of maps.

Loving these pants for work – so tempted to order a pair in each color. While it doesn’t work on these pants, you can score some major deals on other goodies with code SALELOVE.

I am not a cat person, but I can appreciate a good feline – especially this one.

I could try and get rid of cable but then this would happen.

Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour

NMC1T0Q_m_51

In theory, I love lip tints. Zero fuss and zero transfer (to the wine glass). But I always find myself either dry and cakey or full of regret with a color lasting a full day. But I have finally found a happy medium. Enter Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour.

This aerated color is rich but still light. Laura says it best: the color “floats” over the lips. And it comes in a fabulous array of shades. While I am way back in my neutral zone (oh so often wearing this) I actually enjoy wearing Fuchsia Mauve which is described as a purple but looks more berry.

This one acts like a chapstick but looks like a stain. All around a MVP.

Budget Lip Balms for Winter

Budget Lip Balms for Winter on Belle Belle Beauty

I am always reaching for a lip balm, but this time of the year I seemed to constantly have one at arm’s length. No wonder I fly through them in a jiff. So I always appreciate a good value. These three are my three recent favorite budget buys:

Softlips Cube Lip Protectant: My high school favorite reinvented. This little cube houses a dome of pure goodness. I keep Fresh Mint at my blog desk and Pomegranate Blueberry at my desk desk. They are chic but affordable and keep my lips hydrated but not sticky all day long.

Carmex Lip Balm Jar: I haven’t grabbed this classic in years but there was something that was so appealing about this throwback. And it works just as wonderfully as ever. I know the scent is unique, but if can get on board, this really is a workhorse healer for seriously chapped lips.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm: These formulas are natural and paraben-free and feature nourishing beeswax. I love all the flavors but Vanilla Bean is especially cozy on winter days. And when I need a perk up, I grab Coconut & Pear for a tropical escape. Wild Cheery is actually clear and will please any lover of fruity scents.

Note: Don’t miss Burt’s Bees’ fun event now featuring original songs on Vine and Twitter – share yours with the tag #UnCapFlavor.

Buxom Winner Takes All Lip Set

[maxbutton id=”1″]Buxom Winner Takes All Lip Set on Belle Belle Beauty

We are officially near (or at) the last day to ship Christmas gifts for them to arrive safely on 12/24. If you are a fellow procrastinator, I am guessing you’ve noted this for a couple weeks. On that note, I thought I’d share one final idea for gifting.

I actually adore the Buxom Lip Gloss Roulette (but I dropped the ball and it is sold out). As an alternative, the Buxom Winner Takes All Lip Set is the perfect last minute stocking stuffer for the lip gloss junkie. I also love these sets to take to girls’ holiday dinners and split up individual lip glosses as a little treat for everyone.

Buxom (the sexy little sister of bareMinerals) lip glosses are a long time favorite and this set has both lip polishes (sheer) and creams (more opaque). The tingling and lip-plumping action is effective but not irritating. The scent is a vanilla gourmand but not cloying. While they don’t have long-lasting properties, you won’t mind because they are a pleasure to swipe on.

Range of shades include:

Full-On Lip Creams in

  • Creamsicle (peach sorbet)
  • Berry Blast (vivid fuchsia)
  • White Russian (nude pink) – my favorite pale pink

Full-On Lip Polishes in

  • Chloe (dollface pink)
  • Sophia (sweetheart pink) – with just a perfect hint of lavender
  • Trixie (24-karat pink)

Free shipping at Sephora through tomorrow with code GIFTSHIP.

Cruelty-free and without parabens and sulfates.

Fresh Sugar Tulip Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

Fresh Sugar Tulip Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 on Belle Belle Beauty

While I have always loved Fresh and have purchased a few of their lip treatments, I have never managed to accumulate the whole collection. Or even try out every single shade they offer (they are kind of hard to find here in Oklahoma). But I have adored the lemon bar scent and rich balm. And the color is always the perfect tint.

Recently, a new fresh (pun intended) tube landed on my desk in their latest shade. Don’t expect a diminutive color with Fresh Sugar Tulip unlike some of their other versions. Tulip is a strong and bold buildable pink – but the perfect pink (dare I say). It is shocking and sophisticated all at the same time. Despite the time of year, I can’t help but to keep swiping on this cheerful color.

Plus it makes my dry lips feel so so good! Smelling just like a dessert, I get a sugary and lemon scent. The balm is powered by sugar which happens to be a great humectant, sealing in moisture. Meadowfoam, black currant seed and grapeseed also work to nourish and protect. Major bonus points for SPF 15 to shield our most delicate skin from harmful rays.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Insolent Plum on Belle Belle Beauty

The word this fall is “purple”. While purple lips sounds scary (at least they used to to me), I recently found out they are actually a blast to wear. Imagine this: I stroll into a bar wearing Insolent Plum…. I know…

But seriously, I was meeting a group of some of my more sophisticated friends and was greeted with an effusive “I love your purple lips!”. Wow – I didn’t even really think I was wearing purple. But that is the beauty of rocking a subtle trend: my favorite kind.

Add that to the fact that the formula of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick is something to celebrate. The pigments define lips without being cakey or matte. My dry lips remain super hydrated. But somehow this balmy texture manages to pack a color pop.

And the design of the tube is so intuitive, dare I say you don’t even need a mirror? Bonus points: this lasted through two (very sophisticated) cocktails.
