Many of you makeup buffs will know this iconic blush. I certainly was aware of its stellar reputation, but it wasn’t part of my routine for years. Until this summer…. when I got my hands on the biggest Orgasm yet (Original Orgasm Blush: 1.92 oz, NARS Special Edition Orgasm Blush: 3.04 oz). I have no idea why I had discounted this color for so long! I love the universally flattering shade in a creamy powder. It adds the perfect summer flush. 😉 So thrilled I have a large stockpile. Don’t hesitate picking up this special edition while you can! Available at NARSCosmetics.com.
(Note: the image isn’t emblazoned onto the powder, but the chic woman is actually an overlay that is removed when using for the first time)
It is amazing when a good thing gets even better. This time, your vanity will thank you as a classic is being updated with a beautiful vessel from L’Wren Scott. Caudalie’s best selling Beauty Elixir spray is inspired by Queen Isabella of Hungary who charmed the King of Poland thirty-five years her junior. This serum/toner hybrid works to add radiance to any skin type. Ingredients include:
- Rosemary Essential Oil to purify
- Lemon Balm to calm
- Peppermint to stimulate
- Orange Blossom to soften
- Rose for radiance
- Grape Pulp for moisture
The limited edition bottle is inspired by L’Wren Scott’s 2013 fall/winter collection and Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. The mosaics and female silhouette also incorporate vine shoots in honor of Caudalie’s roots.
Beauty Elixir can be used as a primer under makeup and also throughout the day over makeup. It also makes for a great after-shave for the guys.
Available November 1st at US.Caudalie.com, Caudalie NYC Boutiques (315 Bleecker St. and 1031 Lexington Avenue) and the Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza Hotel.
A couple weeks back, I filled you guys in on the entire collection created by Pierre Hardy for NARS. Now that I’ve had a chance to try out some of the products, I wanted to share my thoughts.
Rotonde is a unqiue and vibrant blush palette. At first, I thought the coral/apricot color was to vivid for my skin tone. But after a blending session, my skin looked enlivened and summer-like. And of course it has that iconic silky texture like all of the NARS blushes. Pierre Hardy’s iconic avant-garde print is only a gold overlay, so I will be sad to see it go. But for now, it is oh so pretty.
The nail duo I snatched up was Sharks. I was plesantly surprised how flattering the lavender was on my skin tone. And the accent of the yellow gave a cheerful spring look. The duos are packaged in an adorable “shoebox” including even a dust bag for storage.
Like other NARS polishes, I get a shiny finish. It isn’t as long wear as other brands but I got a decent run out of this manicure. NARS polishes also include UV protection to prevent polish discoloration and are 3-FREE (Toluene, formaldehyde and DBP free).
