Chanel Fashion’s Night Out

One of the thrills of Fashion’s Night Out are the exclusive launches fetting the occassion. This year, Chanel amped up its offering with three lip and nail duos. As always, Peter Philips, the creative director of Chanel Makeup, has hit the trend perfectly with the purples, plums and beiges. There are three new colours for lips – Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Délicate, La Provocante and L’Infidèle – and three new nail varnish colours to go with them – Chanel Le Vernis Délicatesse, Provocation and Infidèle. I’ve got my eyes on the vampy, purple set! How about you?

These shades will be available at select Chanel boutiques on September 6th.

LuckyFABB Nails

My Monday spent at LuckyFABB was full of blogging advice, seeing old blogging buddies and making new friends and connections. I never expected my manicure to get a facelift. At the LeSportsac booth, my manicure got “blinged”. On top of my original Chanel Paradoxal, she used Essie’s As Gold As It Gets and Sephora by OPI It’s Real 18K Gold Top Coat for an imperfect golden French Manicure. Then, an accent nail was added with just the gold polishes. Adds a bit of interest, don’t you think? And bonus! The manicure matched my ring perfectly.

Lumière Sculptèe de Chanel Highlighting Powder

I was poking around the Neiman Marcus beauty department yesterday – shocking, I know.  I stumbled upon the holiday collection for Chanel.  I’ve never found these Limited Edition collections that compelling, but this Lumière Sculptèe de Chanel Highlighting Powder was just too pretty to ignore.   The powder is crazy creamy soft.  The pearl/ivory shimmer is perfectly subtle.  Definitely a splurge, but can you imagine how pretty this would be to pull out for a touch up?

Chanel Spring Nail Polish

The Spring lineup from Chanel polishes was spotted at the show in Paris this week. Once again, they have produced colors that are sure to be big hits and new classics. Named April, May and June, the colors echo Spring blooms. Fuchsia, Rose and Tangerine – which apparently are slightly softer than they appear in this photo. I might have to break down and get June – it is my birthday month and the juicy orange could make for a great pedicure.

CHANEL Levres Scintillantes Glossimer

I just cannot get onto this bandwagon.  I know they are iconic and adored, but I find the wear of these glosses, well, annoying.  First, they are too frosty for me.  I prefer a gloss that highlights the lips and looks more authentic.  The shine is really sticky and there is no way I could wear my long hair down – one little breeze and half my hear would be stuck to my lips.  This is probably due to the advertised gel texture. Honestly, the Revlon glosses are much better, in my opinion, and at a much more palatable price point!
