NARS’ Andy Warhol collection

Two of my favorite worlds are colliding: art and makeup. Good things are bound to happen. WWD reports Nars will debut two makeup collections that channel Warhol’s iconic art. Francios Nars and Andy Warhol, both forward-thinking pioneers in their art, kind of remind me of each other – both epitomizing modernity.

The two collections will reflect his pop art phase and Factory phase. The crown jewel of the Pop collection is the Debbie Harry Cheek and Eye Palette ($65) is an ode to Warhol’s muse. The Factory collection features the Edie set, a film canister containing Film Star pure matte lipstick, Edie eyeshadow, Carpates eyeliner stylo and more. Warhol quotes are emblazoned on the compacts containing eyeshadows pressed into shapes of flowers.

The Debbie Harry palette and entire Pop collection will be available at Sephora on October 1st. The Factory collection will be in department stores on November 1st.

butter LONDON ‘Olympics Heavy Medal’ Trio

I am positively giddy about the upcoming Olympics. I have already started organizing an Opening Ceremony party and plan on being glued to the television for the whole two weeks. And butter LONDON has just introduced a new way for us to celebrate: the commemorative Olympic Heavy Medal Collection. The set includes three beautiful, metallic nail lacquers representative of those gold, silver and bronze medals that are about to be awarded. Pool time!

CEW Names Best Beauty Products of the Year

Today, in New York City, the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) recognized the most innovative beauty products of the year. The winners were selected by beauty industry insiders (over 4,600 of em). Since these ladies are literally the pulse of cosmetics, I trust their judgement imensely. And this is a huge honor for the winners. It is quite an endorsement!

I just can’t get enough of these candy-colored Malibu bags from Stephanie Johnson. The crinkle patent comes in all these vibrant shades, cheering me up every time I look in my purse or luggage. The exterior is shiny and durable. They have an easy to clean sapphire liner and her signature gold studs. The hard part is deciding which to get! They have Aqua, Orange, Royal, Lime, Lemon and Coral in the following sizes:
