Rebecca Minkoff Visits Saks and Chats Beauty With Belle Belle
Last night I had the great pleasure of fetting famed designer Rebecca Minkoff at Saks Tulsa. Part of her #RMRoadShow, Rebecca spent a “Girls Night Out” signing bags and enjoying some beauty treats. There was a ponytail bar, manicures with MAC nail polish and touch ups by Laura Mercier. Not to mention a fashion show of Rebecca’s latest spring looks (I’ve got my eye on this dress).
But the best part for this beauty junkie was sitting down with Rebecca before the festivities to talk about her own beauty routine. Whether on the road or back in New York City, I got the dirt on her favorites. First, what is in this fabulous purse she’s carrying? Below are her tried and true favorites:
- Good ole chapstick
- June Jacobs Face Cream (she also slathers on a thicker layer like a mask for deep hydration treatment)
- Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer
- Stila Liquid Lipstick in Beso
And for her regular beauty routine in NYC? Facials at Joanna Vargas, massages at Bliss Spa and regular Pravana Keratin Fusion Texture Control treatment on the hair (FYI this is safer, newer version of keratin).
What a thrill it was to have this sweet and fashionable designer in Tulsa. Thanks for having us, Saks!

Net-a-Porter Adds Beauty!
Now we can find makeup, hair care and skin care on our beloved Net-a-Porter! I love the brands they have curated for their new department including many favorites and some I can’t wait to learn about. The department includes a select edit of these brands: 3Lab, Aesop, Beauty Works West, Chantecaille, Ilia, James Read, Joya Ames Soeurs, Le Métier de Beauté, Natura Bissé, Phillip B and Sarah Chapman. “As we have developed our content, beauty is such a big part of fashion” says Alison Loehnis, managing director, in WWD. We here at Belle Belle Beauty aren’t surprised to hear about the importance of beauty in the fashion world. In honor of the launch, here are some of our favorites:
I can vouch for Net-a-Porter’s crazy good customer service. It is one of my favorite online stores. Beauty customers will experience the same level of service they are known for. Every purchase arrives in luxurious black boxes, tied with ribbon. Any favorites jump out to you? I’d love to know in the comments!

Spring Beauty Picks in Prairie Hive Magazine
I was thrilled to be featured in a favorite local publication this week. Prairie Hive was founded by a group of creative women, sharing inspiration on design, lifestyle, travel and entertaining. These designers, photographers, writers elequently and beautifully show us a little peek into talented and fashionable locals. And it was an honor to share my favorite beauty products for Spring including:
- Maybelline Color Whisper – These gel-based lipsticks are super nourishing and provide just a wash of color making them so easy to wear.
- Marni Eau de Parfum – This new fragrance is the first by the fashion house and has the freshness for spring but with a little darker twist making it unique (and I can’t get over the adorable packaging!).
- bareMinerals READY Foundation – This mineral compact foundation has the radiant finish of liquids but portability of powder making it perfect for spring skin that isn’t as dry and more prone to breakouts.
- Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Lemon and Chamomile – One to steal from the guys, this lip balm has the best scent, offers SPF for the warming days and heals those dry winter lips in no time.
- Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – This new BB Cream is ultra-lightweight and sheer, perfect for by the pool or for a radiant base under your regular makeup for a dewy, fresh look.
- Kate Somerville D-Scar Diminishing Serum – Anticipating baring more skin in our spring and summer wardrobes, I’ve been working to improve the appearance of scars with this new serum from one of my favorite skin care lines – I’ve had crazy dramatic results using this goodie.
- Mario Badescu Oil-Free Moisturizer SPF 30 – I am an SPF fanatic and this affordable version packs in great coverage, is very lightweight and works beautifully under makeup.

Kiehl’s Newest Philanthropy With DonorsChoose.org
Kiehl’s has done it again, parnering philanthropy with stellar skincare. And this time, customers get to decide where the funds go. How cool is that ?
Starting today, through April 15, a new Jumbo-sized Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate will be available at Kiehl’s stores, counters and on Kiehls.com with a specially designed sleeve. With every purchase, customers receive a $50 DonorsChoose.org gift code, found in the underside of each sleeve. Then, customers can visit www.DonorsChoose.org/Kiehls and redeem a gift code to apply $50 of Kiehl’s donation to the project of his or her choice.
I fell for Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate last June when I was on the search for a Vitamin C serum. The best-selling product contains 10.5% Pure Vitamin C. This gem of an ingredient is one of our key tools in the fight against aging. Kiehl’s found that, over time, the formula had a “significant and progressive effect on ‘marionette lines’ around the mouth, ‘crow’s feet’ and sub-orbital wrinkles in the eye area as well as other facial lines and wrinkles. In addition, skin shows an improvement in texture, tone, and sallowness.” The formula was gentle on my skin and leaves a silky, soothing feeling. Read the full review here.
More about DonorChoose.org: public school teachers from across the country can post requests for their classroom, including computers, books, art supplies and other teaching materials. All projects on www.DonorsChoose.org/Kiehls will be science related, in a nod to Kiehl’s pharmaceutical and scientific heritage. In addition, all projects will also be from schools in the cities and towns in which Kiehl’s customers are located, so customers can search for and support their local teachers and students. Customers can search by location, school or subject to find projects and donate to those that most inspire them. Donors are then personally thanked with letters and photos from the teacher and students.
