KareCo Professional Brushes

KareCo Professional Brushes on Belle Belle Beauty

Ever since learning to blow out my hair last summer, I’ve been pretty thrilled with my Spornette Prego Ceramic Styling Brush. I love the way the brush heats up, smooths my hair and finishes with the perfect bend. But I am always open to try out new beauty products – duh – and especially those that are found easily at great prices.

But don’t expect the budget brushes from KareCo to be cheap or unprofessional. Their Thermal Round Brushes have a specially designed dome that keeps heat moving throughout the brush. This lends to faster drying and more hold. I’ve found that my hair moves through the bristles slightly easier with the KareCo brushes too.

But that isn’t all this little dome does – it helps grasp hair at the curve of the brush keeping strands in the brush and not tangling or ending up around the handle. Hair stays in the brush from root to end so you aren’t repeating sections of hair should they slip. No wonder these are so well designed – they were once only available to professionals but they now can be found at Walmart. I love the 2″ inch barrel for more bend and the 3″ barrel for sleek, shiny strands.

Both sold at Walmart for $12.97 each.

Spring Color on FOX23’s Great Day Green Country

Spring Color on FOX

It is Friday and you know what that means… I’m back on Great Day Green Country and it is time to ring in spring. After a frigid and icy weekend, we have 60s and 70s for the next four or five days (yes, there is a patio in my near future – likely around happy hour today). And what better way to celebrate the warmer weather than some spring shades. Today, I am rounding up the six products to warm things up on your vanity:

Three Favorite Serums

Three Favorite Serums on Belle Belle Beauty

I know I covered my current skin care routine yesterday (see that post here), but I purposefully left out the serum step. Since last September, I have been using three serums regularly that I absolutely love. Granted, they all do very different things so I’ve been adjusting based on what my skin needs. So, take a look at your skin and I encourage you to try out these if you have:

Dry Skin: AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate works with your skin to improve its ability to retain moisture. This added moisture helps skin look more radiant. The secret ingredient is a concentrate of Osmoter, a blend of Dead Sea minerals, that heals skin from the inside out. If you are suffering from some serious winter dehydration, look no further. This serum is super gentle and safe to use morning and night.

Fine lines, hyperpigmentation or dullness: Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment works as both a serum and a mask. Expect some generous brightening action here. While it can be a little strong for more sensitive skin, it might be worth the temporary redness. My skin looks smoother and more vibrant, particularly working against hyperpigmentation. With my easily irritated skin, I avoid using it as a mask. But if you have resilient or thicker skin, give it a whirl. I especially love the way this serum looks under makeup.

Sun damage, fine lines and a lazy skin care attitude: SkinCeuticalsPhloretin CF Gel is a trio of active ingredients that can provide a complete anti-aging cocktail. If you don’t like a lot of steps (or are a dude) check out this multi-tasker. The three active ingredients are 2% phloretin, 10% vitamin C, and 0.5% ferulic acid. The gel consistency is great for oilier skin. And antioxidants specifically help regeneration and repair leaving a more youthful appearance. Be prepared for a period of irritation or a break out here and there – this gel helps force out anything congesting skin and reveals a new and fresh layer of skin.

My Skin Care Routine and Current Shopping List

Belle Belle Beauty's March Skin Care Routine

My skin care routine is always changing as I am adding new products for review. Every once in a while, I’d like to share my routine, just so you can see what is on Belle Belle’s radar. Here is what is stacking up on my vanity:

1. ReVive Cleanser Exfoliant: This gentle and creamy cleanser has beads that help turn over dull and dry winter skin without irritation.

2.Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer: This luminous cream provides important sun protection now that retinol and hydroquinone are back in my rotation.

3. Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion: This toner helps ensure all traces of my makeup are gone while helping my skin fight redness and promoting even skin.

4. Kate Somerville Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream: The big 3-5 is only four months away and I’m staving away wrinkles with this hydrating, technologically advanced cream.

5. Rodin Olio Lusso: Ever since I was tipped off to add a face oil over moisturizer to “seal in” moisture, I can’t bear to skip this step and I think my skin is more luminous than usual. This classic is the original face oil.

Get The Look: Jessica Biel’s Oscars Makeup

Get The Look: Jessica Biel's Oscars Makeup on Belle Belle Beauty

The last thing I want to do after these awards shows is inundate you with loads of “Get The Look” posts. But when I keep going to back to one look over and over again with the desire to inspire my own routine with the artist tips, I know it is too good not to share. So, now that the post-Oscar haze has passed, here is Jessica Biel’s beautiful look by Kayleen McAdams, ck one color global makeup artist.

Kayleen was inspired by a fresh and feminine look thanks to the “beautiful pastels in her dress, so I played with those tones.” She prepped her skin with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration and Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, to give her makeup a good base to stick to.

Then, she used a damp Beauty Blender to apply ck one 3-in-1 face makeup with SPF 8 in fair 200, followed by ck one 3-in-1 concealer in light 1 underneath the eyes, around the nose, and along the edges of her mouth to even out her skin. To highlight, she used Charlotte Tilbury Sculpt and Highlight Powder on the tops of Jessica’s cheekbones, down her nose, and on her cupid’s bow. Skin was finished with ck one cream + powder blush duo in breath 100 right on the apples of her cheeks and set with the powder side of the product to give the look staying power throughout the night.

For Jessica’s eyes, Kayleen started by using a fluffy brush to apply ck one cream + powder bronzer duo in deeply bronzed 400 all over the lid. Then, she used ck one powder eyeshadow in expose and evolved on the inner corners of the eye and along the lash line at the outer corners. Eyes were completed with two coats of ck one volumizing mascara on the top lashes to pump up the lashes. The same mascara was applied to the bottom lashes with an eyelash comb to slightly darken them.

On the lips, she used Tarte Lip Surgence in Lucky to cover her whole lip with a matte pink and in the center of her lips to give dimension and add moisture to her look. Lastly, Kayleen gave Jessica’s lips a good coating of Kiehl’s Facial Fuel No-Shine Lip Balm to soak in while I did her eyes.
