Work Wear on Belle Belle Beauty

The last couple of months, I have tried to elevate my work wear. I haven’t always been successful thanks to a bad alarm clock habit, but the days I do posh-up, I feel more professional and productive. This look above is my dream look – I like to use heels and a skirt to be feminine but polished. The project requires a little closet makeover but I think it is a valuable investment. Meanwhile, some other finds from around the web:

The science of a daily makeup bag.

Loved this inspirational 675 square foot apartment in Brooklyn.

Added these affordable Whole Foods snacks to my shopping list.

I have my eye on this Beauty Dust.

Jurlique’s Calendula Redness Rescue

Redness Rescue on Belle Belle Beauty

With the arrival of 2016, I welcomed a deeper, unsettling redness in my cheeks – no bueno. It seemed to have come out of no where. I have bumpy, congested spots that required more makeup than usual. I started coming to terms with the fact I have inherited my genetic rosacea. But leave it to April’s Rosacea Awareness Month to bring attention to a line that has finally brought some relief.

Jurlique’s Calendula Redness Rescue helps calm redness with organic ingredients. I am hard pressed to pick a favorite from the three products from the line that I tried out – I think they have all earned a spot in my permanent collection. First up, the classic Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturising Cream utilizes their proprietary Comfort Complex to works against sensitivity while providing hydration. Along with Calendula, the formula contains Chamomile, Echinacea, Self-Heal, Spilanthes and Marshmallow extracts to provide an effective defense in soothing red, sensitized skin.

I’ve been on a mist kick lately, so not surprised I fell hard for the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist. I love the subtle scent and hydration. The balancing spray also makes makeup look natural and dewy.

Last is a serum I like to layer below the cream. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum helps with redness, but also gives a youthful glow. It works against fine lines and encourages radiance. All three are available at Sephora and Jurlique.com.

Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub

I’ve been complaining about it here on the regular, but I feel the need to say it again: my skin has been going nuts. I finally found a serum that has cleared up my skin within a week (keep an eye out for a review later this week or next). But I also think the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub has been playing its own role.

Bioré has always been a favorite for drugstore beauty – I adore their charcoal collection. So this immediately had my attention. The formula is powder-to-foam (perfect for travel) and works as a deep skin cleanser. The scrub activates with water and turns into a surprisingly luscious foam. It gives skin a solid clean without being harsh and exfoliating without over-scrubbing. Because it is a deeper cleaning, I try to limit use to 2-3 times per week.

Available at Target and Amazon.

NARS Summer 2016 Color Collection

NARS Summer 2016 Color Collection on Belle Belle Beauty

Another season brings another inspired and beautiful collection from NARS. I mean, just look at the shot above. If it doesn’t make you crave sunshine on your face and sand in your toes, I don’t know what could. This summer, NARS partnered with contemporary artist Konstantin Kakanias to channel French Riviera inspiration. The ten-piece collection captures “high fashion moments steeped in exclusivity and ease.”

NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Liberation on Belle Belle Beauty

The first of two products I tried was the Dual-Intensity Blush in Liberation – a light shimmering pink paired with a caramel rose. While these shades look deep, they give a perfect kiss of color, ideal for spring skin. The silky texture applies weightlessly and blends into skin for a natural look. I like a wash of color, but this can be built up for a more editorial look. I use the darker shade under my cheekbones and on my hairline. The pink goes right on the apple of my cheeks. It also can be used wet for a luminous, dewy and translucent look.

NARS Get Dirty Lip Cover on Belle Belle Beauty

The second product I tried was a new NARS formula, Lip Cover, and I adore it. The saturated color is a high-pigment gloss. It comes in four shades and I have been trying out Get Dirty (such a good name) which is a desert rose. The effect is a rich nude that channels Kardashian with class. I get a couple hours of wear and it is ideal with a sheer gloss layered over it.

The Summer 2016 Color Collection is available exclusively at NARS until May 1st when it launches at Sephora.

Spring Fashion on Belle Belle Beauty

Manic week! But the days are flying by and my favorite thing to say is that means we are having fun. Snugging the dogs, walking in the sunshine and working on some meal planning techniques have been on dock this week. Hope you guys have enjoyed some of this spring weather we are finally having. Some finds from around the web:

It is that time of year so read up: a premier dermatologist shares her best sunscreens.

I recently ditched my top sheet … permanently. And this article not only cracked me up but was spot on.

This tour of a house boat on San Francisco bay is absolutely dreamy.

I am really digging these low-profile beds.

Speaking of beds, I am a huge fan of napping so I naturally loved this infographic.

Kiehl’s Limited Edition Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Kiehl's Limited Edition Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado on Belle Belle Beauty

I mentioned a couple weeks ago a limited edition eye cream from Kiehl’s. Each sale of the limited edition of this classic formula benefits Recycle Across America in honor of Earth Day. Unbelievably, I hadn’t had a chance to try this crowd-pleasing eye cream so I was thrilled at the excuse to pick up a tub.

Avocado Oil, Beta-Carotene and Shea Butter work to gently moisturize the delicate skin around the eye. The formula is thick but relatively quick to absorb. I haven’t had any issues with clogged pores, making the nourishing formula friendly for a all skin types. There is a light green tint to the cream, but zero fragrance. While it doesn’t have any fancy ingredients to tighten or lighten, I find that the moisture alone accomplishes all my goals. My skin doesn’t have the crepe-y appearance and is bright and radiance. Apply gently by tapping on with the fingertip along the orbital bone. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is available at Keihl’s.
