Ferrum Professional Hair Styler

ferrum-professional-hair-styler-416x416

After finally mastering a round brush blow out this summer, I actually enjoyed the process of drying and styling my hair. Unfortunately, the novelty wore off and I’m saving that round brush for special occasions only. For now, I rough dry my hair. Then I flip my head upside down and use a paddle brush to work out the waves in the back of my hair. Overall, it does a decent job and I look presentable. But my locks definitely could benefit from a little flat iron touch up.

My main beef with flat irons is that they so often leave hair artificially straight and my fine hair is left totally flat. Enter the Ferrum Pro, specifically designed to create straight but natural-looking hair. Truly innovative, this flat iron has the traditional ceramic plate on one side and a breathable static-free fabric on the other side. Together, they create more volume and less damage.

The fabric plate actually allows hair to retain moisture and this in turn prevents strands from drying out. Moisture is key for volume. Dry hair is more prone to breakage. And like tradition irons, the tourmaline plate adds that shiny finish.

The Ferrum Pro is a great size, portable but not too small at 9 inches long and about one inch wide. It also offers adjustable temperature. I recently read that anything over 350F can damage locks, so I love that this iron offers temps from 140-450F. And for those of you always running late, this thing heats up in a jiff.

NEW From Stephanie Johnson for Fall and Holiday

Fancy Stephanie Johnson for Fall and Holiday // Belle Belle Beauty

I trust my beauty goodies only to be housed in the gorgeous Stephanie Johnson bags. Not only are the well designed for travel or on-the-go, but they also are so darn beautiful, they often double as a clutch. I’ve been toting my Tinseltown Gold Essentials Large Zip Top (back) for evenings out. This one is currently sold out but good news! They should be back in stock in November and you can contact their customer service department to place a pre-order. This goes for many others that are marked “sold out” on the site. I also love Beverly Hills Gold (middle) and my fellow blogger, Lara, is wild about Dubai (front). Looked amazing as her clutch here.

Functional Stephanie Johnson for Fall and Holiday // Belle Belle Beauty

If you are looking for something more about function, I am wild about their Laguna collection. Inspired by the beach, the textured pattern has little glimmers of gold peeking through. They are lined with an easy to clean fabric. The large trapezoid is generously sized (middle), fitting all my brushes and makeup with no problem. And the mini pouch (front) is ideal for throwing in your purse.

Available at stephaniejohnson.com.

SkinCeuticals Eye Cream

SkinCeuticals Eye Cream // Belle Belle Beauty

Those dreaded wrinkles around your eyes when you smile. You know those? I hate to report that I am getting to know them all too well. Needless to say, I am stepping up my eye cream game. I turned to skin care powerhouse line, SkinCeuticals. While some of their products are way to active for my sensitive skin, I’ve found that this eye cream plays nicely with my easily irritated skin.

SkinCeuticals Eye Cream targets all concerns for the eye area – puffiness, fine lines and dark circles. And it does it well. I’ve found after a month of use, my skin around my eyes is brighter, more even and not the least bit puffy. All sorts of ingredients work together to make this multi-tasker perform. First up, Centella asiatica, a botanical extract, boosts collagen production. Ectoin protects skin while allowing it to repair itself. And Peptides fight against puffiness and dark circles.

I carefully rub a pea sized amount around my eyes, making sure to skip the eyelid area. This is pretty active stuff, but like I said, not irritating on my sensitive skin. The first couple of days, I got just the slightest tingle but it didn’t last long. Expect to see results fairly quickly. Even though I am a month in, I saw more even skin in as little as a week. This guy is definitely in my permanent skin care rotation.

And a little fashion PSA: ASOS (savings automatically added in your cart) and Piperlime (use code FALL) are both having great sales. Here’s what’s on my wish list:

Adorned Bare Nails

Adorned Bare Nails // Belle Belle Beauty

My fifth installment of nail art with Suave® and Q-tips® for their awesome ManiCure Pinterest sweepstakes is all about intricacy. And what better way to show off details than against a bare nail? Twists on bare nails have been spotted on runways and in the glossies and I’m excited to give my own spin on the trend. Along with getting creative with nail art, I’ll also be sharing tips on keeping skin moisturized and nails looking clean and healthy with a precise finish.

Adorned Bare Nails // Belle Belle Beauty

Up first, a little detail about the ManiCure Pinterest sweepstakes– make sure to head over to the Suave Beauty Pinterest page and pin one of my featured looks (or any other looks by my fellow influencers) and copy the pin URL to the Suave Beauty Facebook page to enter for the chance to win Suave® Skin Solutions Body Lotions and Q-tips® Precision Tips cotton swabs or $500 for the ultimate day of beauty and style!

Adorned Bare Nails // Belle Belle Beauty

The last couple of days, I’ve been slathering on Suave® Skin Solutions Smoothing Body Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea. The tropical scent is delicious and my skin and cuticles look both richer and healthier. After moisturizing, I pushed back my cuticles and prepped nails with a strengthening base coat. Before the base coat, I used a little alcohol on a Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swab to make sure my nail beds were oil-free.

Adorned Bare Nails // Belle Belle Beauty

To contrast the simplicity of a bare nail, I painted the tips a dark and inky navy. Black would also work well. When painting the tip, often polish will get on the tips of my fingers. The Q-tips® Precision Tips cotton swabs are perfect to clean up any rogue polish and ensure the line is clean and precise.

Allow this “reverse French” manicure to fully dry. Then, to add more interest, apply a glitter polish to the top third of your nails, overlapping the tip and bare areas. I like to match the glitter to the shade on the tips, but you could also use gold or silver.

Finish with a top coat so that shine is uniform throughout the nails and enjoy this long-lasting manicure!

Honestly Margo Lipbalms

Honestly Margo Lipbalms // Belle Belle Beauty

Talk about inspiring! My fellow Oklahoman, 12 year-old Margo, is already a entrepreneur. Major kudos for turning a passion into a business at such a young age. I share Margo’s passion for beauty and particularly lip balm. And naturally I had to share the stellar products that she has developed.

Crafted from only Beeswax, Coconut oil, Safflower oil and flavored oils, Honestly Margo Lip Balms are vegan friendly, gluten-free, paraben- free and free of any artificial sweeteners. The scents are pleasant but not overwhelming and you don’t “taste” the balm like so many other versions. I’ve been testing out Juliet, Fiona and Penelope for the past week or so. I can’t stop reaching for Penelope, a pumpkin cheesecake flavor. Could that be more perfect given the season? Fiona is a fruity colada. And Juliet, also perfect for the season, is caramel apple.

The slender design is my preferred, easy to swipe on and it doesn’t get everywhere. And the graphic, modern designs are so cute! I already can’t wait to try out her new balms, Dude (lemon) and Jane (unscented). You can purchase Honestly Margo lip balms at honestlymargo.com and stores listed here.
