Summer Lip MVP's on FOX's Great Day Green Country // Belle Belle Beauty

I’m back on Great Day Green Country this morning to chat about the hottest lip products for the summer. These three gems are the ones I keep reaching for, no matter what look I am going for. Make sure to pick up one of these Summer MVPs!

  • bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick: This buttery formula is ultra-rich and super pigmented. You get great color payoff while still hydrating your pout. Not to mention, this lipstick comes in such vibrant and great shades, perfect for the warmer months.
  • mark Glossworks: The newest from mark comes in eight shades pigmented and long lasting shades. The formula is hydrating and glossy. And there is an ever so slight sweet scent. Major bonus: contains SPF 15 to protect lips during the day.
  • supergoop SPF 30+ AcaiFusion Lip Balm: This balm is the ultimate in sun protection for while you are at the lake or the pool. The rich formula has such a great scent and the sheer pink tint keeps you looking polished. It also soothes dehydrated lips while Acai works as an antioxidant.

mark. Make It Rich Lip Color Crayon

mark. Make It Rich Lip Color Crayon // Belle Belle Beauty

True confession here: I would much rather wear a neutral lip gloss than a bold lip any day. That being said, in the interest of blogging and all, I am constantly trying out the latest and greatest lip products with a pop of color. (And don’t put it past me to rock a bright pink lip for girls’ night out).

Of course, I went directly for mark’s make it rich in Naturally first (center). Its buttery texture and rich pigment had me sold. I thought “could this be the formula to get me going on bold lips?”. I had to track down some other shades and test them out STAT.

Fast forward a week and, as I sit here typing, I have Hot Sauce (far left) on my lips. Who knew that wearing this rich crimson could give me so much joy? The formula is super lightweight but ultra-hydrating. The color stays on without any bleeding. The cool-based red make my teeth look glimmering white (well, whiter…). The crayon design makes it super easy to draw on the color precisely. And I love the subtle, warm vanilla scent.

Royale, second from left, is a berry bordeaux, perfect for our last bit of winter days. I love the look of a deep, vampy lip on a cold day. Second from right is Hey Honey, which looks brown. But it is actually a very wearable, deep nude with a little copper. Lastly, far right is Peony, a fuchsia with a silverly shine (probably least wearable for me, but would look amazing on darker skin). Not pictured: Punch, a feminine pink.

mark. Just Blushing Powder Blush

mark. Just Blushing Powder Blush // Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve been on a blush bender lately. With my fair skin at the height of its winter paleness, a little shock of pink can transform me from sallow to glowing. It has been especially frosty here lately, so I’ve been channeling that doll-like sweet pink cheeks rather than my old trusty nude. The effect is kind of windblown chic (just trust me on this one).

While I have my old blush standby, a girl always wants options, right? My dear friend, Lara, was raving about these powder blushes from mark (naturally, I had to see what the fuss was about). And a bonus: with this price  point ($9), you can pick up and experiment with a new look, guilt free.

But here’s what’s so special – Just Blushing Powder Blush wears and acts like the most luxe of products. I’m so impressed by their feather-light feel. And at the same time, the powder applies so creamy. The best is the glowing finish and full day of wear the formula gives.

There are eight shades and I’ve swatched four below. From top to bottom: Dollhouse, Lovespell, Cameo and Charmed.

I thought I would fall hard for the nude-y peach Cameo but it is the sweet, cool pink Lovespell that has really captured my heart. I love Dollhouse for a more dramatic look or for darker skin tones. Charmed is a balanced pinky nude with ultimate wearability.

Attention Scandal Fans: Behind the Scenes Video with Quinn and mark. Cosmetics

Behind the Scenes Video with Quinn and mark. Cosmetics // Belle Belle Beauty

Hooray for Thursday! It means it is time for one of my most favorite shows of the week. Scandal! Do you tune in? If you follow me on twitter, you know it is an event for me. The show is smart, quick and political. Not to mention Kerry Washington has one of the most enviable TV wardrobes.

One of the more intriguing characters is Quinn, played by Katie Lowes. She is haunted by her past and doesn’t have the full story of why she is in D.C.. The video below is a little sneak peak of mark. Cosmetics artist, Jamie Greenberg, getting Katie ready for a “no makeup makeup” look. So good it makes me want to copy it every single day. Enjoy!

All products are available at www.meetmark.com. And PS – I absolutely adore my Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette!

Get The Golden Globe Look – Belle Belle’s Top Five

Katherine McPhee at the Golden Globes // Belle Belle BeautyKatharine McPhee went the daring route with a plunging neckline and classic black. The twitterverse was split on the dress, but you can’t deny that Katherine looks beautiful. Artist Jake Bailey adds “Katharine’s dress looks like it belongs in a Helmut Newton photograph, so I thought the makeup should be strong and sultry…the kind of eye makeup that would be in one of those photographs. It’s an eye look for sure – a smoky eye with a beautiful nude skin palette.” All makeup used was NARS.

  • Radiant Creamy Concealer (New for Spring 2013)
  • Light Reflecting Setting Powder – Pressed (New for Spring 2013)

Amy Adams at the Golden Globes // Belle Belle Beauty

Makeup Artist Stephen Sollitto complimented Amy Adams’ “ballet pink” Marchesa gown with soft, but sophisticated makeup. Flawless complexion was played up by her eyes and natural, luxe lips.

Salma Hayek at the Golden Globes // Belle Belle BeautyCelebrity makeup artist, Jeannia Robinette, was inspired by Salma Hayek’s midnight blue dress and balanced the glamourous dress with youthful and fresh makeup. “The eyes are very luminescent – we lightened them up with coppers and silvery peach, then gave them depth with eggplant and plum. With a bright lip, the look was trendy, young, and modern.” All makeup used was NARS.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the Golden Globes // Belle Belle Beauty

Celebrity Makeup Artist Fiona Stiles went for modern Hollywood Glamour for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s look. I like that it is slightly more bold than my other picks. That pink lip is one of my favorites of the night.

FACE:

”I dusted Burberry’s Warm Glow Summer Glow no.4 Bronzer on Rosie’s cheekbones and forehead for a healthy, fresh glow. Rosie is so incredibly gorgeous and a bit of sun-kissed glow really suits her.”

EYES:

“I kept Rosie’s eyes very simple; a soft wash of neutral color and a bit of definition in the socket. I elongated the eye with a brown pencil, and softened the line with mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Tabac. I love using brown because it’s so sexy but maintains a soft look. Next, I applied two coats of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black to Rosie’s top lashes and one coat of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascarain Brown/Black to her bottom lashes. I groomed her brows using Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash, lightly sculpting them with pencil to create the perfect frame for her face.”

LIPS:

“I applied mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Cha Cha for a gorgeous Hollywood finish. A red lip creams glamour, but I matted down the finish and made the edges soft and undefined, patting it on with my finger for a less overpowering look.”

Kate Hudson at the Golden Globes // Belle Belle Beauty

And my award for best hair goes to Kate Hudson – soft, shiny but full and smooth hair. Celebrity hairstylist, David Babaii remarks “Kate is my generation’s Brigitte Bardot showing off soft voluptuous hair that is touchable, glamorous and now Kate’s very own signature look.” note: IT&LY is found in salons.

  • David started with IT&LY’s Pure Water Drops Serum before blow drying.
  • Next, he added IT&LY’s Pure Style Mousse Strong and used a medium round brush at the root area to add volume then switching to a large round brush to smooth and create soft rounded edges.
  • After drying, David created a natural side part spritzing IT&LY’s Pure Volumizing Eco at the base for added lift and down the shaft for more piecey definition.
  • For her sexy fringe he wrapped the bang area around a medium round brush spraying a small amount of IT&LY’s Pure Volumizing Eco again. With the blow dryer temperature on high, he directed heat on the brush followed by a quick blast of cool air to set. Gently he removed the brush to release the fringe.
  • With his fingers he combed through and allowed the hair to fall naturally into place.
  • To finish, he misted the hair with IT&LY Pure Definition Hair Spray for soft touchable hair with memory hold.

I’d love to hear your favorite looks of the evening in the comments below!
